Lupus Society of Alberta

The Lupus Society of Alberta is a non-profit organization formed to provide education and support for lupus patients, their families and friends. Funds are raised to further lupus research, promote public awareness and provide education to the community at large. The Lupus Society of Alberta was established in August of 1972 and has the distinction of being one of the first lupus organizations organized in the world. Tumour Foundation of BC

The BCNF erves people with Neurofibromatosis (NF) and their families. Provides information for health professionals, promotes and supports scientific research, hosts an annual medical symposium, publishes a quarterly newsletter, and has a resource lending library. Also offers support groups for people with NF, their significant others, and caregivers. Also provides scholarships for youth with NF to attend the NF INC. summer camp in Arizona. The Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada (PFC) is a nationally registered charitable organization that improves the quality of life of Canadians by sponsoring research which advances the treatment techniques, knowledge and skills of Canada's 13,000 physiotherapists. We take a leadership role in the funding of, and fundraising for, physiotherapy research. We develop partnerships with physiotherapy stakeholder including corporations, clinics and individual physiotherapists to  make certain that all research of merit is funded.

FRIENDS OF MUSIC SOCIETY

Established in 1989, the Friends of Music Society (FOM) is a non-profit organization that uses music as the basis for our partnership programs. We feature musicians with a mental illness working and playing in partnership with other musicians from the community. Our goal is to bring people together using music a a common bond, raising awareness of mental illness in our community.We offer a variety of musical opportunities for members to perform and practice together, to work and to socialize and entertain others. This is accomplished through day and evening programming as well as organized public concerts. FOM continues to provide work opportunities for members who face the daily challenges of serious and persistent mental illness. We have five ensembles; Moodswing Chorus, mixed voices Moodswing Orchestra a dance band format, Minds at Work which plays Rhythm and Blues, a daytime drop-in program and a coffee house style acoustic group called The Eclectics.
