The New Jersey Firemen’s Home – established in 1898 – is the ONLY licensed health care facility in the State of New Jersey whose primary mission is dedicated to the men and women of the New Jersey Fire Service. Located on the historic Lathrop Estates in Boonton, NJ – the Firemen’s Home provides both long term care and residential health care services. St. Jude's Anglican Home was established in May, 1948. It was rebuilt and reopened in 1991 as a multi-level long term care home for 55 elderly residents. Our services include 24 hour nursing care, delicious and nutritious meals planned by a registered dietitian, recreation and music therapy, multi-faith pastoral care, physiotherapy, podiatry, massage therapy, and hairdressing. St. Jude's is widely acknowledged as one of the leaders in complex geriatric care in the region. The Home is supported by the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, user fees and donations. Donations are used to enhance resident programs and support equipment purchases and capital development. Donations to our "Companions in Care Fund" are fully tax deductable. Donations over $500 per year are acknowledged on our Board of Special Recognition in the Home.
The purpose of the home is to assist families in need by providing a safe home-like setting for children until they are reunited with family or achieve independence resident children range in age from infant to 22 the average resident census is 50-65 limited housing is also available for youth over the age of 18 if they are enrolled in a school of higher education
