Foundation of Stars

Over the years, the Foundation of Stars has become the most important source of non-governmental funding of pediatric research in Quebec. Since its creation in 1977, the Foundation has contributed more than $60,000,000 to pediatric research. The Foundation has chosen to support the dedicated worth of scientists and to fund promising research projects at the following pediatric research centres: the “ CHU Sainte-Justine“, the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the “Centre hospitalier universitaire de Québec”, and the “Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke”.

BONNECHERE MANOR FOUNDATION

The Bonnechere Manor Foundation is a registered charity made up of a group of volunteers dedicated to raising funds to enrich the quality of life for all residents and clients at the Bonnechere Manor. Whether it is an Auditorium, state-of-the-art equipment, or programs to enrich the residents' quality of life, the Foundation is dedicated to making Bonnechere Manor truly a home-away-from-home. The Foundation is also a vehicle to raise funds that support capital projects and other programs that are not funded through existing Ministry of Health and Long Term Care mechanisms.

Perley Health Foundation

Since its establishment in 1988, the Foundation has raised over $20 million. Funds have been used to construct the original campus buildings in the early 1990s and Perley Rideau's Guest House in 2006, purchase equipment such as baths, lifts, improve the grounds and support the Health Centre's unique recreation and creative arts programs. In 2012, the Foundation embarked on a $5 million Building Choices, Enriching Lives Capital Campaign. All funds raised are dedicated to the construction costs of the two seniors apartment buildings and the associated amenities. The Foundation is a registered charity both federally and provincially. Eligible gifts to the Foundation entitle donors to a charitable tax receipt which may be used to claim a non-refundable tax credit on their own income tax. Registered Charitable number: 12194 8038 RR0001. The Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Directors. The Chairman of the Board is an ex-officio member of the Health Centre Board.

Central City Foundation

The Central City Foundation is a charitable foundation that continues the work of the Central City Mission Society founded in 1907, one of Vancouver’s oldest charitable organizations. In addition to providing grants to community organizations, the Central City Foundation holds community assets that include the Abbott Mansions and the Cosmopolitan Hotel that provide safe, affordable housing to more than 100 downtown eastside residents, as well as properties in development as a community childcare and family centre in Strathcona and for BC’s first long term Youth Drug and Alcohol Residential Treatment Facility - The Crossing at Keremeos.

Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Foundation is a fundraising organization dedicated to improving health care services for the residents of Muskoka and East Parry Sound. The Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Foundation was established as a registered charity in 1984 to receive, maintain and distribute funds raised by personal donations, grants, capital projects and special event fundraising, and special programs not covered by government grants. Although the Foundation does not contribute to operating costs, its mandate is to provide ongoing capital and education resources for Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare - Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.
