The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital raises funds to support Guelph General Hospital. When the doors to Guelph General Hospital were opened on August 16, 1875, the hospital had 12 beds, a small infectious room and a dispensary. A superintendent and two nurses provided care, as well as working in the kitchen, housekeeping, switchboard and laundry. Today, GGH is a dynamic, comprehensive acute care facility providing a full range of services to the residents of Guelph and Wellington County. Services include 24-hour emergency coverage, advanced technology and diagnostic support, and specialty programs such as orthopaedics, cardiac care, obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatrics. In its capacity as a community and referral hospital, GGH serves a population of 180,000 people throughout Guelph and Wellington County.

The Society for the Blind enhances independence, empowers individuals and enriches the lives of people who are blind or visually impaired and their families. Caring, qualified staff provide specialized vision rehabilitation, adaptive education, assistive technology and support services.

The mission of ASEB (Alzheimer’s Services of the East Bay) is to provide services to individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementia; provide support to their caregivers; and educate and inform the general community about issues related to dementia care.

OASIS provides support group services to adults coping with severe vision loss. OASIS provides information and referral services and community education seminars to disseminate information about vision loss and coping techniques.

Helen Keller Services for the Blind enables individuals who are blind, visually-impaired, deaf-blind and/or have combined hearing-vision loss to live, work and thrive in their community of choice.

In the past year, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, assisted approximately 28,000 neighbours in Waterloo Region. Yearly, The Food Bank distributes over 3 million pounds of food to community individuals who are facing challenging circumstances. Food is distributed through a partnership of 76 member agencies and community programs which provide emergency food hampers and meals. VNA helps people age with dignity and independence at home.

Our mission: ABODE provides a beautiful home and compassionate care for those at end of life, at no charge. We run completely on donations and grants. Guests who come to ABODE are under the care of hospice agencies. Our well-trained staff and volunteers partner with hospice to provide personal care, meals and support for those in their final 3 months, weeks and days of life. We also offer a robust community education program in which we teach the art of contemplative living and dying. Our vision: We live in a world where death is not feared, and we live fully until we die.

St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf is committed to listening and spoken language education, spiritual and emotional growth, and personal development of children and young adults who are deaf or hard of hearing, without discrimination, reflecting the values and traditions of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet.

Therapeutic Living Centers for the Blind is dedicated to caring for the lifetime needs of people challenged by developmental disabilities and blindness.  TLC believes in the value of each individual and promotes the philosophy that each participant can be assisted to achieve his or her full potential.
