The Calgary Food Bank is a food distribution hub. We provide quality emergency food directly to Calgarians to meet their individual needs (prenatal, homeless, households with children, etc). We also collect food donations for distribution to other charities (including the Mustard Seed, the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary, the Salvation Army and women’s shelters).

The Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre offers unique programs specifically designed to help children, youth & adults with Type 1 Diabetes through ongoing support & education. Operating since 1989 the Best Centre as it has become known, currently serves over 1000 families in the Durham Region. At the core of the program is its founder Marlene Grass RN, who's dedication to seeing families through from diagnosis and on into adulthood has shaped the Centre into what is is today. Caring & compassion are what the Best Centre is founded on, ensuring that no one with diabetes is ever alone in their day to day struggle to manage their diabetes. Staff are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week for new patients, crisis intervention & hospitalization prevention. Programs such as in-home consultations, school & community group education, support groups, children's parties are only a few of the vital services offered only at the Best Centre.
