The core activities of the Foundation include supporting education, research, and missionary medical aid to those who need health care within the United States and abroad.
The Foundation contributes to the improvement of health care services offered to patients by financing specific and targeted projects such as the Mgr. Henri-Cormier Lodge, specialized equipment, new technology and research. The Foundation also supports projects aimed at the development of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Regional Hospital, while promoting awareness to the general public in order to develop its sense of ownership towards the Hospital's outreach. The Foundation encourages participation from area businesses and associations in support of its projects. Finally, the Foundation develops opportunities to allow individuals help finance the Foundation's projects.
Public Foundation
The Northern Lights Health Foundation exists to raise funds for the purchase of medical equipment, programs and services at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre. All funds raised by the Foundation directly benefit our facility, staff and patients. The Northern Lights Regional Health Foundations is a non-profit registered charity. In the past fiscal year the Foundation raised over $3 million for the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre.
University Hospitals Kingston Foundation is the fundraising arm for Hotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston General Hospital and Providence Care. Created in 2005, the Foundation raises money for programs, equipment, education and research that benefits the 500,000 people in Kingston and Southeastern Ontario served by the three teaching hospitals. All the donations received by our Foundation are turned over to the hospital's foundations, which invest and distribute these funds according to the needs of their hospitals.
Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation is a registered charitable organization which includes Hamilton General Hospital Foundation, Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation, McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation, St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation and all of their associated programs. Through the generosity of our donors, we fund capital redevelopment projects, purchase medical equipment and technology, and invest in research and education. Our mission is to raise funds and manage donor gifts to support outstanding clinical care and research for the communities served by Hamilton Health Sciences; our goal is Health Care, Transformed.

The Foundation was incorporated in 1978 as a non-profit organization, set up to receive and administer donations from the public. The accumulated funds are for the sole benefit of the Wingham and District Hospital. The Foundation is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors independent of the Hospital. Each year the Foundation directs money to supplement the financial needs of the hospital to ensure the highest standard of health care.

The Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation was established in 1992 to enhance care at the Sturgeon Community Hospital by raising funds for medical equipment and programs. Through several fund raising programs and events, we support approved priorities to maintain a standard of excellence in health care for the people in our community. A 15 member volunteer Board of Trustees manages the Foundation. Foundation Trustees also work to promote the Hospital in our community and act as advocates for the programs offered here. The Foundation receives all gifts to the Hospital, both cash and gifts-in-kind.
