Since 1988, H.E.A.R., Hearing Education and Awareness For Rockers, mission is dedicated to the prevention of hearing loss and tinnitus. We cater particularly to the population most vulnerable to potential noise induced hearing loss ––young music lovers, musicians, DJs and their audiences and others in the music and entertainment industry––but extend our education, awareness, and advocacy to people from all walks of life. In addition to awareness, education and advocacy work, we provide music-hearing services in San Francisco and a directory of partners for other locales. In everything that we do, we strive to ensure that hearing conservation becomes part of every music education and music lifestyle. H.E.A.R. wants you and your loved ones to enjoy music, and the pleasure of hearing, for a long, long time.

The DLC believes that if we foster those positive human qualities that the Dalai Lama inspires in us - like compassion and mindfulness - through holistic learning and life practices, our children will flourish into communities of people who are socially and emotionally equipped to lead fulfilling, peaceful lives. The DLC's role is to: Educate the public, Convene thought leaders and experts, Advise policy makers and other circles of influence, and Apply research that will advance both the knowledge and practice of heart-mind well-being.

Together We Can provides residential recovery services in the Collingwood neighbourhood of Vancouver. Daily groups, one on one sessions, social and recreational programs as well as complimentary therapies including yoga and accupuncture all contribute to the healing process. Programs are from 30 to 90 days. Together We Can also provides second stage housing for those particpants wishing to have some ongoing support after primary treatment is completed.

Child Aid International is a not-for-profit organisation that respects and champions the rights of all orphan children – regardless of race, ethnicity or faith. The organisation strives to address the basic needs of orphan children by providing them with love, hope, inspiration and support to develop into healthy, caring, and confident individuals.

To EDUCATE local, state and national legislators and the public about all aspects of breast cancer: the importance of early detection, lifestyle changes, treatment and research; To ADVOCATE at the state and national levels for increased breast cancer research funding, health care reform and breast cancer legislation that will be of benefit to all; and To ERADICATE breast cancer -- We are Georgia's VOICE to END Breast Cancer!

JMJ Children's Fund is supporting children in schools in Ghana, India and Malawi. We are also helping to provide food for children in a Remand Home in Nigeria, with its attached orphanage. JMJ has been supporting a program called Youth Alive which teaches young people in Malawi how to fight AIDS.

Calgary Police Service Constable John Petropoulos passed away in the line of duty on Sept. 29, 2000. John was investigating a break and enter complaint when he stepped through a false ceiling, fell nine feet into the lunchroom below and succumbed to brain injuries. There was no safety railing to warn him of the danger. He was 32. After his death, several of John’s recruit classmates set up the John Petropoulos Memorial Fund (JPMF) and raised monies through the sale of memorial pins to fellow officers. Subsequent pin sales, grants, fundraisers and ongoing donations continue to sustain the Fund. Our safety initiatives offer people tangible tips they can implement in their workplaces and on the roads to help ensure emergency responders make it home safely to their families after every shift.
