The mission of the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF) is to cultivate a healthy & stigma-free society through transformative action. In 1997, three AIDS service organizations in Tucson (Tucson AIDS Project, PACT for Life, and Shanti Foundation) merged to form SAAF. In 2014, SAAF took over several initiatives from Wingspan, formerly Southern Arizona's LGBTQ community center. In 2015, SAAF celebrated 30 years of providing services and continues to be the only community-based organization in southern Arizona providing case management and ancillary support services for people living with HIV/AIDS and their families; culturally appropriate prevention and education programs to reduce the rate of infection; & LGBTQ community outreach & engagement.
The foundation invests in the potential of 2SLGBTQ+ communities — especially LGBTQ women, girls, and other historically excluded groups — by providing rapid-response community grants, scholarships (e.g., for queer youth camps), and programs to improve health, economic justice, and representation. Its work includes building an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Directory and supporting grassroots organizations across the U.S. and Canada.

The Lion Heart Heroes Foundation seeks to promote heart health for our military community. Objectives: Raise awareness of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and advocate for heart health in the military community. Promote the presence and use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDS) on military posts and at physical fitness events. Support research and partner with the Navy to develop cardiac screening protocols to help identify cardiac abnormalities within our military community. Demonstrate heart screening protocols using the latest scientific techniques.

Arise Equine Therapy Foundation utilizes the EAGALA and Natural Lifemanship therapy models of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). We use a team approach comprised of a licensed Mental Health Professional, a certified Equine Specialist, the horse(s) and the client(s). Through hands on, experiential activities real life challenges are identified and addressed to equip the client with practical solutions. EAP easily adapts to a variety of populations and needs. Success is seen in clients with, but not limited to, PTSD, OCD, anxiety, grief, depression, and other behavioral and mental health needs. Our staff is equipped to provide services to youths, adults, individuals, families and groups.
DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity which believes in the power of ice hockey to benefit both able-bodied and disabled amateur ice hockey players, and their families dealing with crisis. We strive to give everyone opportunity to gain independence and confidence they need to perform in the face of adversity, on or off the ice. With the fantastic support of the ice hockey community we host and sponsor participation for athletes in a variety of national and international amateur ice hockey events, and we also provide aid and support to deserving candidates, in times of need.
