Our mission is to relentlessly confront lung cancer on every front, every day for everyone. Founded by patients and survivors, we are dedicated to increasing survival for those at risk, diagnosed and living with lung cancer.

The Center for Advancing Health works to increase people's engagement in their health care. We listen to patient perspectives. We translate what we learn into resources that help all of us participate fully in our health care and that enable policy makers and clinicians to support our efforts.

Wigs for Kids provides hair replacement systems to children under the age of 18 who have lost their hair as a result of medical treatments, health conditions, or burn accidents. When children lose their hair, whether as a result of medical treatments, health conditions or burn accidents, they don't just suffer physically. The change in their appearance can drastically undermine their self-image and sabotage their self-esteem. To help heal the pain of these struggles, Certified Cosmetic Therapist Jeffrey Paul founded Wigs for Kids, a nonprofit organization that has been serving children suffering from hair loss since 1981. Wigs for Kids is a cooperative effort among Certified Cosmetic Therapists throughout North America who share a common goal. “Children shouldn’t have to worry about how they look, especially when they’re in the middle of a health crisis,” says Jeffrey Paul. “We want to give these kids the opportunity to feel good about themselves again.” The value of all children’s wigs Hair Replacements is $1,800. “These are custom-made Hair Replacements,” says Jeffrey Paul. “Each prosthesis is hand-tied and is made completely from human hair. We make sure they look just like a child’s own hair.” “They won’t come off on the baseball field or in the playground,” he adds. “Kids can count on them. And because kids look just the way they did before, they feel better about themselves. They look in the mirror and their eyes light up. To see that light in their eyes … that’s priceless.”

Girls Giving For Good is a non-profit created by 12-year-old Olivia C. Allen, aimed at teaching youth about community service and providing unique opportunities for them to give back.

To collect unused medical supplies from local medical facilities and distribute them to countries in need, effectively limiting the negative impact on our environment and supporting health care efforts in developing countries; to send local medical personnel on medical missions to developing countries; to educate our local community about global health issues.

TO COORDINATE SERVICES AMONG PRIVATE AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES FOR SPECIALIZED POPULATIONS TO ENSURE SERVICE CONTINUITY, REDUCE DUPLICATION, AND ASSIST INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN ACCESSING APPROPRIATE MENTAL HEALTH, INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES AND DRUG AND ALCOHOL SERVICES.

The Foundation for Drug Interdiction supports the prevention of drug abuse and those who are struggling with drug abuse. Monetary support for the Sherriff’s Department and Mental Health services are among the top priorities.

Mission: The Center for Youth provides comprehensive programs and services from prevention education to counseling to emergency shelter to youth development opportunities with respect for and full participation of youth.
