The Charlotte Maxwell Clinic's mission is to support and empower low-income women with cancer by providing free access to compassionate, integrative care, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage, guided imagery, movement, and nutritional advice. These evidence-based modalities offer relief from the side effects of cancer and its treatments, and contribute to increased rates of survival and quality of life. They are rarely covered by insurance and are too costly for women living in poverty. Since 1991, CMC has provided integrative cancer care and health education free of charge to thousands of underserved women with cancer. Our vision is that all low-income women with cancer achieve the highest attainable health during their cancer journey.
The Center for Well-Being’s (CWB) mission is to improve the health and well-being of our community through evidence-based health practices and innovative programs that advance health equity for all. Our vision is to improve community health through inclusive and just policies, programs, and services. To achieve this, we offer specialty clinical services and community-based empowerment programs, and each year we serve over 25,000 individuals of all ages. Our clinical services include nutrition therapy and a cardiac rehabilitation center to help individuals achieve optimal health. Hope on Haven Hill is a 501(c)3, charitable, nonprofit, 24 hour residential facility for pregnant women with substance use disorder and their newborns for up to a year postpartum. On site comprehensive group and individual addiction treatment services are provided in a safe, nurturing environment, taking into consideration the need for trauma informed, gender based treatment. Co-occurring mental health disorders are addressed as well with individual counseling. Childbirth education, nurturing parenting classes, mindfulness training along with yoga, art therapy and life skills coaching are integral parts of our phased programming. Hope on Haven Hill is located in Rochester, New Hampshire and services all of New Hampshire as well as bordering towns.
Open Wide Foundation is a non-profit dental organization redefining humanitarian dentistry. Our mission is to make a significant, measurable and lasting impact on oral health in communities of need. By combining the efforts of dental volunteers and industry leaders, we strive to impact oral health in a positive and lasting way. The mission of the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF) is to cultivate a healthy & stigma-free society through transformative action. In 1997, three AIDS service organizations in Tucson (Tucson AIDS Project, PACT for Life, and Shanti Foundation) merged to form SAAF. In 2014, SAAF took over several initiatives from Wingspan, formerly Southern Arizona's LGBTQ community center. In 2015, SAAF celebrated 30 years of providing services and continues to be the only community-based organization in southern Arizona providing case management and ancillary support services for people living with HIV/AIDS and their families; culturally appropriate prevention and education programs to reduce the rate of infection; & LGBTQ community outreach & engagement.
A link leading from the past to the future, Gilly’s House is a residential program for young men who have struggled with addiction and want to continue their recovery. Gilly’s House offers a stable, structured, supportive and safe environment to achieve personal goals, while attaining the transitional life skills necessary to reintegrate into community life. Caring for the needs of each individual, Gilly’s House collaboratively works with each young man to develop personal goals and a plan to reach them. Gilly’s House offers the opportunity for social, educational and vocational growth. Gilly’s House prepares young men to re-enter life with a positive step forward, personal skills, and community connections to continue to meet individual goals and live a successful life of sobriety.
Our mission is to improve the health and quality of life for all people of the greater Pajaro Valley, especially the most disenfranchised. We do this by working “upstream” (before health problems occur or worsen) to help prevent future disease through education and disease prevention, as well as “downstream” (where problems require immediate intervention or treatment) to meet the most acute need for access to quality, culturally responsive services. In all our work, we collaborate with community members and agencies and rely on data to guide our decisions. In this way, we aim to pass on stronger systems and healthier lifestyles to future generations of Pajaro Valley residents.
Working in partnership with the Rwandan Ministry of Health, and the Rwanda Heart Foundation, TeamHeart will address the burden of cardiac disease: Through surgical development trips, TeamHeart will address the suffering of adolescents and young adults afflicted with advanced rheumatic heart disease in Rwanda with life saving surgical intervention. To work with the medical and nursing staff Rwanda to build a sustainable regional center of excellence in cardiac care. To increase the identification of disease though capacity building, provide appropriate post operative follow up care. To prevent advanced rheumatic heart disease through a combined effort of surveillance, prevention, education and early intervention as an example of effective countrywide intervention against rheumatic heart disease that can inspire replication in sub-Saharan Africa.
Vulvar cancer reported cases is rising. The American Cancer Society estimates that in year 2021: 6120 new cases of vulvar cancer will result in 1,550 deaths. Each day, in the United States alone, this equates to: 17 new diagnoses, and 4 deaths, per day. It is estimated, in the United States alone = 1 in 333 women will succumb to VULVAR CANCER in their lifetime!The Suzanne Lee Prince Foundation MISSION:- to empower all women to be PROACTIVE with their health care through education about this undiscussed and forgotten cancer. The Suzanne Lee Prince Foundation is a 100% volunteer unsalaried board member organization. 100% of all funds generated are spent on operation costs like printing, mailing, phone fees, website maintenance.
CHIP is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation serving Butte, Glenn, Tehama, Plumas, Shasta, Sutter and Yuba counties. “Helping people help themselves” is CHIP’s mission. We assist low-income and rural disadvantaged residents, seniors and others who lack financial resources or knowledge to improve or provide adequately for their housing. Here’s what we do: construct mutual self-help (sweat equity) housing and affordable multi-family apartment housing manage rental properties we build and properties owned by others, provide education and services to residents, and build and enhance communities. Our organization has built more than 2000 housing units in our seven-county service area and is acknowledged as an innovator and leader in rural housing issues.
"Helping One Heart At a Time" Boston Cardiac Foundation (BCF) is a non-profit organization that brings medical technologies and services to less developed countries around the world. It is our mission to provide advanced medical technologies and cardiac care to indigent patients around the world. In addition we aim to carry on educational and ancillary activities related to cardiac care for the indigent. The BCF team is made up of physicians, nurses and technologists and performs cardiac procedures such as pacemaker implantation free of charge for patients who otherwise would not be able to afford it. Many of these individuals would not survive without these life saving operations. Team members have been traveling around the globe on charitable missions for over 22 years. It is our mission to provide quality healthcare, to those in need, free of charge and better their lives forever.
