Afrika Tikkun was founded in 1994 soon after the emergence of Democracy in South Africa. Our visionary founders-- the late Chief Rabbi Cyril Harris and philanthropist and businessman, late Bertie Lubner-- had a vision of focusing on children knowing they represented the future of the country, which inspired the-then President Nelson Mandela to volunteer as our Patron-in-Chief-- an honor that he only bestowed on four organizations during his lifetime. In 2002 he wrote: “Afrika Tikkun demonstrates in a practical and sustainable manner what can be done with limited resources, great commitment and passion. It is my belief that Afrika Tikkun represents the best of what civil society can offer in partnership with Government’s considerable efforts.” For the last 22 years, Afrika Tikkun has worked to redress the consequences of institutionalized oppression in South Africa. Our unique Cradle-to-Career development model enables our 550+ employees to deliver services addressing holistic educational, medical and economic needs of marginalized youth from early infancy through adulthood, inspiring and enabling them to become productive citizens and leaders. Action Wellness enhances the lives of individuals living with HIV and other serious chronic illnesses by providing holistic and trauma-informed health, prevention, and supportive services. The agency empowers those it serves to rise beyond the barriers of disease to achieve wellness and increased stability within the community.

Chicago House empowers persons living with or vulnerable to HIV/AIDS to lead healthy and dignified lives through housing and compassionate, client-centered support services.

Children Affected by AIDS Foundation accomplished this by helping to meet their diverse needs, advocating and educating on their behalf, and bringing joy and fun into their lives.

Project Lazarus helps heal and empower people living with HIV/AIDS by focusing on wellness, providing housing and offering important support services.

Jerusalem House provides homeless and low-income individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS in Greater Atlanta with a continuum of housing options, supportive services, and educational opportunities that contribute to a resident's overall self-sufficiency.

HACA's mission is to support advocacy, education, and awareness efforts that build and sustain community among all people impacted by bleeding disorders

Our mission is to empower persons in Central Indiana affected by HIV/AIDS to move forward each day with dignity and to lead the fight to prevent the spread of HIV.

Food & Friends prepares and delivers medically tailored meals and groceries and provides nutrition counseling to people living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, and other serious illnesses who cannot reliably nourish themselves. Their services are provided free of charge and aim to improve clients’ health and reduce social isolation through nutrition and supportive outreach.
