The world's poorest children are at highest risk of the world's most expensive injuries -- burns and amputations. These sudden, life-changing trauma injuries can happen in a second without warning but require a lifetime of support. The world has ample resources in the form of medical care, rehabilitation therapy, and psychosocial support for trauma survivors, but it is not getting to the children who need it most. HandReach is working to bring together the best hands in the world to promote healing, rehabilitation, and the full development of human potential among the world's poorest and most badly-injured children. HandReach works at three levels: 1) Individuals: We facilitate the sharing of best practices across countries and institutions by educating clinicians, therapists, parents, and healers of all kinds. We also work to bring acute, reconstructive, and psychosocial care to children who are in great need of surgery or rehabilitation therapy that their families cannot possibly afford. 2) Institutions: We facilitate international clinics, sponsor training, develop technological resources, and arrange for the donation of needed equipment and supplies so that institutions can maximize their ability to treat complex injuries and promote full rehabilitation for children, regardless of income. 3) Society: We advocate for the needs of the poor to promote greater access to medical care, education, safer products, building materials, and work practices, and a place in society that includes greater access and acceptance for people with physical differences. We are working to develop a free international database of best practices in pediatric burn care and orthopedic rehabilitation that allows doctors and therapists to consult across the world on cases. This online resource database will be readily translatable into any language and provide short, detailed videos that address various aspects of excellent burn and orthopedic care -- from skin grafting to splinting to prosthetics to psychological support for children and families. If a child is burned in China, for instance, her doctor can provide details about the case, consult live expert clinicians internationally, and be directed to easily downloadable videos in Chinese to share with staff and the patient's family. HandReach's work would then be to spread the word of this database and foster face-to-face contact between clinics worldwide. HandReach's dream is for there to be nowhere in the world a child can be injured that is out of reach of excellent medical care and psychosocial support.

Restoration Gateway exists to join Christ in restoring peace and healing wounds among the vulnerable children and war-torn people of Northern Uganda. 700 acres of land overlooking the Nile is being developed into a holistic, reproducible community through Orphan Care, Health Care, Empowerment, and Ministry to the Church.

Nearly five years ago, Boston was changed forever when a beautiful Marathon Monday turned into a senseless tragedy. Gillian Reny, then a high school senior, was one of the 39 critically injured patients rushed to Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), where doctors and nurses saved her life and both of her legs. In gratitude to BWH, the Reny family established The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation with a mission of transforming outcomes for civilian and military heroes worldwide who have suffered devastating traumatic injuries. To date, the center has raised more than $12 million. But much more needs to be done. Although trauma accounts for 41 million emergency department visits a year, funding for trauma research and care remains scarce. IDRF empowers poor, rural women and children in India and Nepal tough sustainable development programs.  We provide grants and support for community-based non-profit organizations (NGOs) in each country. After an initial grant, we engage with these NGOs to ensure that projects are sustained and that they respond to local needs efficiently. Our focus areas are eco-friendly rural development, education, healthcare, governance, women's empowerment, and disaster rehabilitation.

Embrace Kids Foundation exists to lighten the burden and improve the quality of life for children with cancer, sickle cell and other serious disorders in the New Jersey/New York City metropolitan area. Underlying all of our programs is our goal to help maintain as much normalcy as possible in our patients’ lives by addressing the spiritual, emotional and financial issues of the kids and their families. We believe that addressing the needs of the patient and families as a whole is a critical part of caring for the child.

The California School-Based Health Alliance (formerly the California School Health Centers Association) improves the health and academic success of children and youth by advancing health services in schools.  We envision a day when all of California's children and youth are healthy and achieving at their full potential. Since hiring our first paid staff in 2003, the Alliance has successfully grown to have an annual budget of more than $1,500,000 and thirteen staff.  We conduct policy work, promote the school based health center (SBHC) model, and assist SBHCs with program development to expand and strengthen school health services.  Our large network of collaborating partners includes 231 SBHCs, numerous school districts, federally qualified health centers and other providers, dozens of state and local policy organizations, and an e-communications network of more than 3,200 individuals. Our goal is to make school health centers an integral and sustainable part of the health care and educational systems. By putting health care where kids are – in schools – school health centers increase access to care and take health problems out of the classroom so that teachers can teach and students can learn.

The Childhood Cancer Lifeline was founded in 1995 by a group of parents whose children had childhood cancer. Since our inception, we have been a strictly volunteer organization dedicated to addressing the practical and emotional needs of New Hampshire families dealing with pediatric cancer. Today our volunteers have expanded to include family members, friends, and other caring individuals. We know first-hand the trauma that a family faces when a child is diagnosed. We also understand the challenges you'll deal with before, during, and after your child's treatment. The Childhood Cancer Lifeline is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

Motivated by the inherent worth of each individual and our great care for the people of Haiti, the Saint Rock Haiti Foundation works side by side with the people of Saint Rock and the surrounding rural communities to enhance their lives through: Providing quality primary health care; Helping children and young adults access valuable education opportunities; Instituting community outreach programs that support economic sustainability; Investing in infrastructure to support overall health; and Empowering members of the community to advocate for their rights in the future. Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center, Inc. (HSNHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing health care without regard to race, sex, color, national origin, or ability to pay. HSNHC addresses the physical and behavioral health needs of families and children living primarily in the Dorchester, Mattapan, and Roxbury neighborhoods of Boston. The Health Center serves as a primary source for health education and works with the community to identify and put into action needed health services and works with community groups to ensure the well-being of the communities it serves. It is HSNHC's core belief that high quality health care delivered in a dignified manner should be made available, accessible, and affordable to all people as a right, rather than a privilege.
