Maine Cancer Foundation is dedicated to reducing cancer incidence and mortality rates in Maine. 100% of the funds raised are used to benefit the people of Maine. We lead a state-wide effort to advance the most promising and effective cancer-fighting tools available, through a combination of grant-based financial support and coalition building. We invest in prevention to stop cancer before it starts, early detection to find cancer when it is treatable and beatable, and access to the best possible care regardless of income or geography.

Their mission is to provide a safe place for Haitian women to receive compassionate and respectful maternity care. They are dedicated to improving the health and well being of the women and infants of Haiti, one woman and one child at a time. This vision is achieved through the application of evidence based midwifery care, delivered primarily by Haitian midwives and supported by volunteer midwives from around the world. Healthy women make for healthy families. Their goal is to offer services to women that will decrease their risk of dying from what should be a normal life event: pregnancy and birth. However, Haiti has the highest infant and maternal mortality rate in the Western Hemisphere. It is their core belief that no woman or child should ever die because of where they live.

Many of the community group practices feature adult internists, pediatricians, and family practice specialists. With community practices in more than a dozen towns, Lahey Clinic serves communities as diverse as Ipswich on the North Shore, Lexington in Boston's Northwestern Suburbs, and Haverhill on the New Hampshire border.Lahey Clinic Medical Center is a teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine. In addition, many of our physicians hold teaching assignments at Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine. The Clinic maintains residency and fellowship programs for more than 100 new physicians in 19 specialties.As a research center, Lahey Clinic offer patients access to clinical trials of new therapies for diseases such as diabetes, prostate cancer, heart disease, and cataracts. Research programs at Lahey Clinic encompass more than 200 clinical trial protocols and participation in numerous national and international studies.

IDRF empowers poor, rural women and children in India and Nepal tough sustainable development programs.  We provide grants and support for community-based non-profit organizations (NGOs) in each country. After an initial grant, we engage with these NGOs to ensure that projects are sustained and that they respond to local needs efficiently. Our focus areas are eco-friendly rural development, education, healthcare, governance, women's empowerment, and disaster rehabilitation.

In Malawi maternal and infant mortality rates are among the highest in the world. Hospitals and clinics are severely understaffed, which means that even when critically ill women and children reach a facility in time to save their lives many still do not receive the care they need. And, once they leave the hospital they receive no ongoing support. This is a huge problem and we are a small organization doing what we can in this environment. We support the provision of home based nursing care to high risk postpartum women and babies. We offer high quality personalized care to the women and babies enrolled in our programs, we strive to involve families and communities, and we hold up the truth that even a small difference is a significant difference especially when made with compassion and love.
