Children's Miracle Network saves the lives of children by raising funds and awareness for children's hospitals and foundations throughout the world. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $5 billion—most of it $1 at a time—for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada, which, in turn, use the money where it’s needed the most. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

Child Magazine has ranked The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia the best pediatric hospital in the United States for the third consecutive time. In its comprehensive 2005 survey, the magazine also rated Children's Hospital's Cardiac Center and neonatology, oncology and orthopaedics divisions No. 1 in the nation and emergency medicine No. 4.
