AWARE, Inc. provides free, confidential emergency shelter and supportive services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Jackson County. The organization operates a 24-hour crisis helpline and offers counseling, legal and systems advocacy, community education, and other services that help survivors rebuild safe, independent lives.

We are dedicated to supporting secure beginnings in all families with children 0-5 regardless of ability to pay, by nurturing the earliest relationships, where our deepest patterns are set. {Our Work} We are dedicated to the nurture of children pre-birth to five, through inspiring partnerships and community resources that address pre and post-natal well being, infant/ toddler development, and parent education and support. In partnership with parents, health professionals, educators and the community, we create opportunities to connect, to explore, and to engage directly in the development of healthy approaches to early childhood education. Independence House helps all domestic violence and sexual assault victims and their children by creating opportunities to find safety and become empowered through crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, referral, prevention outreach, education and inspiring change in our community. Our vision is to see domestic and sexual violence come to an end.

CARE House of Oakland County is the county’s children’s advocacy center that works to prevent child abuse and protect children who have experienced abuse or neglect. It provides advocacy, education, intervention, training and treatment services (including forensic interviews and therapy) in partnership with community agencies, typically at no cost to the families served.

We strive to: ​ Raise awareness in our community of the magnitude, proliferation, and dangers of teen dating abuse; Educate and encourage teens to engage in healthy relationship behavior; Help teens, and parents, to recognize and act upon warning signs; Provide resources to identify places of help for teens in distress, or in potentially dangerous dating situations.

The Task Force on Family Violence of Milwaukee, Inc. (TFFV) provides advocacy, education and access resources to keep people safe. TFFV is a leader in addressing the problem of domestic violence and the myriad of needs of survivors in our community. Our leadership and innovative thinking has created a rich history and strong foundation for our work.

Clackamas Women’s Services works to end the isolation experienced by survivors of domestic and sexual violence by providing trauma‑informed, survivor‑centered services — including a 24‑hour crisis line, shelter, counseling, legal/advocacy help, and community education — so individuals and families can find safety and long‑term healing.

To provide children and youth in Arizona a safe environment, free from abuse and neglect, by creating strong and successful families. We do this through prevention, intervention and education programs designed to support the thousands of children and families who may be at risk. All of our work centers on our vision of safe kids…strong families.

Apna Ghar provides critical, comprehensive, culturally competent services, and conducts outreach and advocacy across communities to end gender violence. Apna Ghar seeks to end gender violence through a three- pronged approach of highly effective and innovative services for survivors and those who perpetrate harm, advocacy and community education and accountability.

YWCA Pierce County provides safety, shelter, and comprehensive support services to survivors of domestic and intimate-partner violence and their children, while also working to empower women and advance racial equity. Their programs include emergency shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, children’s services, and community education to promote healing and long-term stability.

To promote social change by providing services which empower battered and abused individuals and their dependent children, of all abilities, to achieve safe, violence-free lives; to partner with the community by providing information and education geared toward the elimination of domestic violence, the achievement of peace in relationships, establishment of a system to hold perpetrators accountable and provide a safe work environment.

Women's Shelter, organized in 1976, began as a grassroots organization to offer safety and advocacy services to victims of domestic abuse and to their children. Women's Shelter's goal is to reduce domestic violence by offering alternative housing, reducing barriers to violence free living, educating the public about difficulties facing victims, and preventing future violence by working with the children.
