SOLIDARIEDADE NA MOKILI, a global nonprofit 501c3 public charity dedicated to addressing human development. We invest, empower and protect women and children creating healthy, sustainable and productive communities. Our organization places women and children in the forefront because we believe women are the heart of the family, as well as cultural, health and social balances within every community. Women play a central role in health development and education. As such, their empowerment is an indispensable factor for peace, social, economic, and environmental progress. We are convinced giving women the right to choose their lives independently, anywhere in the world, is one of the keys to meeting the challenges of this century.

Our mission is to address the health, safety, economic and social justice issues related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and substance abuse. To achieve our mission we deliver services using a three-pronged approach: Training & Technical Assistance Public Awareness Direct Services

Mission Statement: Helping Families...Changing LivesA New Leaf  has been Helping Families…Changing Lives for 51 years with over 35 programs including affordable housing, homeless and domestic violence shelters, behavioral health and community programs serving 32,424 clients and residents annually.

CFI's mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable, marginalized and at-risk children in Battambang province by providing access to quality education; promoting child rights; ensuring physical safety, health and wellness; inspiring children and young adults to act as positive role models within their communities; fostering self-reliance among families and communities while sharing joy together.

The foundation invests in the potential of 2SLGBTQ+ communities — especially LGBTQ women, girls, and other historically excluded groups — by providing rapid-response community grants, scholarships (e.g., for queer youth camps), and programs to improve health, economic justice, and representation. Its work includes building an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Directory and supporting grassroots organizations across the U.S. and Canada.

ChicagoCAC believes that freedom from abuse and exploitation is a basic human right and that best-practice interventions can restore lives. Our mission is to unite public, private and community partners to ensure the safety, health and well-being of abused children in the City of Chicago. Our vision is to be Chicago’s recognized leader in the prevention of child abuse and victim response and establish the organization as a center of excellence in the broader community.

The WRC shall serve women, families and all those who choose to participate in, and can benefit from, the Center?s programs. These programs shall attempt to: protect and nurture health and well being; encourage active participation in making life choices; advocate for the positive solution of crisis situations; facilitate personal growth and life-long education; and provide a link to needed community resources.

The primary purpose of the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery is to provide a safe haven for children, birth through age 12, thereby preventing child abuse and neglect, and to support the needs of families. Children are cared for in the Nursery for any situation that may jeopardize their health and safety, including: parental stress, domestic violence, homelessness, and other family crises. The Crisis Nursery services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at five locations throughout the St. Louis and St. Charles' regions and are free of charge.

Casa's mission is to provide social and emotional learning programs and bullying prevention to children and adolescents to develop optimal relationship skills and to prevent abusive and violent relationships. Casa's prevention programs prevent children from becoming abused, from becoming abusive, bullying people, and from becoming involved in abusive relationships. In addition, Casa leads call to action movements to increase public awareness of verbal, and emotional, other abusive behaviors and to implement abuse prevention programs and social and emotional learning programs in schools, camps and after-school systems, as well as in businesses, houses of worship, health centers, and public entities.

The Office of Public Guardian, Inc. , (OPG) serves adults with mental and/or physical disabilities as their court-appointed legal guardian when they are incapable of managing some or all of their affairs. The Office of Public Guardian, Inc. was established to act as a substitute decision-maker for those persons in the big bend area who are functionally impaired to the extent that they require the protection of court intervention. The OPG provides quality public assistance in the form of guardianship services to vulnerable adults adjudicated incapacitated who have no family, friends, or resources to obtain a private guardian. Through the provision of public guardianship services and under the direction of the court, the OPG strives to: enhance quality of life, employ “substituted judgment,” acting as the person would have when making decisions in their best interests, protect against abuse, neglect and exploitation, and safeguard and exercise the fundamental civil rights of the people we serve guardianship is a serious step! Just because the person has a disability does not mean he or she needs a guardian. Guardianship is inappropriate if there are other alternatives such as a durable power of attorney, medical proxy, public benefits’ representative, etc.

Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles seeks to achieve equal justice for people living in poverty across Greater Los Angeles. We change lives through direct representation, systems change, and community education. LAFLA’s team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff works with the community in various ways: Direct representation of low-income individuals; Assisting pro se litigants; Education through workshops in person and online, and printed materials. LAFLA’s legal priorities encompass: • Supporting families • Preserving quality, affordable housing • Maintaining economic stability • Promoting safety, security, and health • Serving populations with special vulnerabilities • Protecting human and civil rights • Innovating legal services delivery • Addressing racial justice and equity

My Sister’s Place (MSP) seeks to end domestic violence and empower survivors to live healthy, independent lives free from violence. For over 40 years, MSP has been an innovator in changing lives by providing DC’s first hotline and first domestic violence shelter, and most recently, first Batterer Intervention group. As DC’s oldest domestic violence shelter, we have served as a cornerstone of the District’s response to this pressing public health issue since 1979, and our impact on DC’s community remains as strong as ever. MSP is unique in offering a full continuum of care from emergency shelter through transitional-to-permanent housing. Our experienced team of case managers and residential counselors provides clinical counseling, case management, and comprehensive services to empower survivors to recover and thrive. MSP also provides training, case consultation, and advocacy to engage communities to prevent violence and abuse. Our goal is to end domestic violence, and empower everyone to build healthy lives and relationships.
