The Dan Steele Memorial Endowment Fund celebrates the life of Chapman alumni Dan Steele. Dan passed away at the young age of 22, on November 13, 2015. The endowment fund provides scholarships to students entering the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. In this way, we hope Dan's memory lives on in the hearts and minds of those at chapman who supported and nurtured him.

The Julian Center empowers survivors of domestic and sexual violence, strives to end the generational cycle of violence and creates a community where every individual is safe and respected. Since 1975, they have assisted more than 66,000 survivors and have educated more than 300,000 others on the causes of domestic and sexual violence and its impact on their community.

Council for Children's Rights’ (CFCR) mission is to improve the lives and futures of children in Mecklenburg County through legal representation, individual advocacy, and by addressing community-wide issues through research and policy work. The mission of Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. is to break the cycle of violence and to strengthen families by providing the necessary tools for self-sufficiency through delivery of emergency shelter, transitional housing, individual counseling and support groups, education, effective parenting education, and specialized intervention with youth and the elderly.

Our mission is to stop the cycle of child abuse and neglect by strengthening the family through home-based intervention programs designed to include not only parents but entire families. Programs focus directly on contextual factors such as poverty, single parenthood, family violence, mental health or addiction issues, patterns of abuse that can increase stress, weaken the family and illicit abusive behaviors.
