The Scottish Terrier Club of America's Health Trust Fund is a 501c3 established in 1994 for the purposes of supporting research to benefit all Scotties, investigating and monitoring health issues in the breed using registries, databases and health surveys, and communicating important new health information and research findings to all Scottie owners.

Tennyson Center for Children improves the mental health and wellness of those impacted by trauma and other adverse experiences. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity and support needed to learn, grow, and thrive.

The mission of Sunflower House is to protect children in our community from physical and sexual abuse through education, advocacy, forensic and mental health services. Sunflower House's vision is safe children thriving in nurturing families and communities.

First Witness CAC works to strengthen the community’s response to child abuse by providing forensically sound interviews, family advocacy, medical and mental‑health coordination, prevention education, and professional training — all to support healing for children, vulnerable adults, and their families.

Jesse’s House is a home for adolescent girls who have been removed from conditions of abuse, or adverse circumstances in order to secure their safety and well-being. In addition to providing shelter and basic care, we ensure the medical, dental, and mental health needs of each resident are evaluated, and appropriate services are provided in order to maintain their physical and mental health. We also provide academic support and life skills development to help them achieve academic success and prepare them for independent, adult life. In essence, we strive to serve as a counterbalance to the trauma and neglect they have experienced in order to help guide them through their present challenges, and their years beyond Jesse’s House.

Mothers For Justice United Inc works to support bereaved mothers, elevate their voices to advocate for justice, and eliminate race-based violence in minority communities by police and vigilantes. Mothers for Justice United is engaged in advocacy on two main, somewhat overlapping fronts: police accountability and reform; and mental health, particularly as it interacts with policing.

New Friends New Life (NFNL) restores and empowers trafficked and sexually exploited teen girls, women, and their children, and drives awareness of the issue and its prevalence. By providing access to education, job training, interim financial assistance, mental health, and spiritual support, New Friends New Life helps women and children overcome backgrounds of abuse, addiction, poverty, and limited opportunities.

Indian youth are in vital need of resources and support. Young adults who grow up in orphanages and residential care are uniquely at risk for crime, low educational and professional attainment, mental health issues, suicide, homelessness, and early mortality. We come alongside these young adults and provide wrap-around services including counseling, financial support, and professional networking to help them build bright futures.

Our mission is to stop the cycle of child abuse and neglect by strengthening the family through home-based intervention programs designed to include not only parents but entire families. Programs focus directly on contextual factors such as poverty, single parenthood, family violence, mental health or addiction issues, patterns of abuse that can increase stress, weaken the family and illicit abusive behaviors. Founded in 1976, House of Ruth empowers women, children, and families to rebuild their lives and heal from trauma, abuse, and houselessness. Through 14 programs in Washington, DC, we serve women, children, and families who are striving to overcome childhood trauma, domestic violence, homelessness, mental health disorders, and poverty.  Our continuum of services encompasses enriched housing for families and single women; trauma-informed childcare; and free counseling to empower anyone, regardless of gender, who is a survivor of trauma and abuse.
