EDUCATION: TO PROVIDE RESOURCES FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT ADVOCACY PROGRAMS AND OTHER ENTITIES.

NIFLA was founded in 1993 to provide professional legal assistance to pro-life pregnancy centers, which now number nearly 3,000 nationwide. These centers exist to provide alternatives to abortion for women considering abortion. NIFLA concentrates its efforts in assisting centers with their day-to-day legal needs and providing assistance to centers to convert their counseling operations into life-affirming medical clinics staffed by professional health care providers. NIFLA promotes the use of ultrasound under the supervision of a licensed physician to inform women in crisis pregnancies of the life within them so that they can make an informed choice regarding their pregnancy. NIFLA provides legal counsel, resources, and training to centers that desire to make such a conversion.

The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) Inc., is a volunteer organization, inspired by Jewish values, that works through a program of research, education, advocacy and community service to improve the quality of life for women, children and families and strives to ensure individual rights and freedoms for all.

NWCAVE helps to inform, educate and prevent violence and exploitation against women and children nationally and internationally. Whether human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual violence, stalking, bullying, hate crimes and all other forms of violence and exploitation against women and children, NWCAVE strives to keep the public informed and educated on how we can live in a more civilized society free of violence. The National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) / Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Association for Children, together with its state and local members, supports and promotes court appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes. Every year, over 600,000 children experience foster care and need a caring adult to speak up for their best interests. A CASA/GAL volunteer is that voice.

Safe Alliance provides crisis intervention, shelter, counseling, court advocacy, and other trauma-informed services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in Mecklenburg County; their work focuses on immediate safety, healing, and helping survivors rebuild stable lives.

Creating futures without violence has been our vision for over thirty years. Now, it is also our name. From domestic and dating violence, to child abuse and sexual assault, Futures Without Violence works to end some of the most pressing global issues of our time. We advance the health, stability, education, and security of women and girls, men and boys worldwide. In 1994, Futures Without Violence was instrumental in developing the landmark Violence Against Women Act passed by the US Congress. Striving to reach new audiences and transform social norms, we train professionals such as doctors, nurses, athletic coaches, and judges on improving responses to violence and abuse. As well, we work with advocates, policy makers and others to build sustainable community leadership and educate people everywhere about the importance of respect and healthy relationships – the relationships that all individuals, families, and communities need and deserve."

The Dan Steele Memorial Endowment Fund celebrates the life of Chapman alumni Dan Steele. Dan passed away at the young age of 22, on November 13, 2015. The endowment fund provides scholarships to students entering the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. In this way, we hope Dan's memory lives on in the hearts and minds of those at chapman who supported and nurtured him.
