Brad and Vicki Margus founded the A-T Children's Project when two of their young sons were diagnosed with A-T in 1993. Ataxia-telangiectasia is a genetic disease that attacks in early childhood. It progressively affects coordination, predisposes children to lethal cancers, and severely compromises their immune systems. Children with A-T are usually unable to walk by the age of ten and rarely live beyond their teens. By supporting and coordinating aggressive research, we hope to give them a chance to live and to enjoy life's possibilities.

Our mission is to empower women and youths, especially adolescent girls, to have expanded personal choices, explore their potentials, and control their future so that we can close gender gaps and challenge actions which stunt girls' development in the communities where we operate. "Perspektywya Education Foundation (Fundacja Edukacyjna aPerspektywya- in Polish) is an independent, non-profit national organization established June 1st, 1998 to promote and support education. It plays an important role on the domestic scene actively promoting quality of education, diversity and equality. The Board of Foundation consists of present and former rectors of Polish universities and other outstanding public figures interested in the development of higher education in Poland.

Washington state ranks among the top states in the nation in the concentration of STEM jobs, and opportunities are increasing rapidly. By 2030, 70% of high-demand, family-sustaining wage jobs available in our state will require postsecondary degree credentials; 67% of those will require postsecondary STEM credentials. But Washington students are not equitably or adequately prepared to take advantage of these opportunities. Today, only 40% of all students are on track to attain postsecondary credential. Worse yet, students of color, rural students, girls and young women, and students living in poverty still lack access to these pathways—they face disparities early on and fall further behind as they move through the education system. In our state STEM is at the forefront of discovery, on the frontlines of creative 21st century problem-solving, and serves as one of the largest pathways to family-sustaining wage careers and long-term economic security. STEM pathways have promise like few others in Washington and it is imperative that Black, Brown, and indigenous students, rural and low-income students, and girls have access. Washington STEM is working to ensure that all students have equal opportunity to benefit from the transformational possibilities that STEM has to offer.
