Mission: "Girl Scouts build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place." The Value proposition is that Girl Scouts is where girls find their voices and make them matter. The Girl Scouts of Central Maryland has served the Metropolitan area since 1962. In the ensuing five decades, the neighborhoods and communities of Baltimore City and certain surrounding counties have changed. The GSCM has endeavored to change to be responsive to these changing demographics and keep current with the needs of girls in Central Maryland. GSCM conducted extensive research into the needs of girls and young women who live in Baltimore City. The families in these areas are typically single-parent families with income levels near the poverty line. Many parents work more than one job to make ends meet. And then there is the special group of girls, often forgotten, who are separated from their mother for reasons over which they had no control. Delivering the extra-curricular activities that are necessary for girls to achieve later in life is a founding principle and goal of Girl Scouts of Central Maryland. This includes learning the real meaning behind the Girl Scout Law of "I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout. In underserved communities there is a lack of availability of programs, and lack of transportation. GSCM intends to continue to fill this void with its Beyond Bars program and needs your support to assure we can continue to transport girls from their neighborhoods to the facility which houses their mother. Overall, for the entire council, the goals for 2015-2018 were established for a target population of girls in kindergarten through 12th grade, the goals and are: (a) to empower a culturally diverse population of girls through engagement in a Girl Scout leadership pathway; (b) to increase the reach of GSCM's programs and unique experiences by enrolling an increased number of girls, particularly girls from underserved communities, as members of the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland; and (c) to recruit, screen and orient new and existing adult volunteers, who are guided and trained to mentor a culturally diverse Girl Scout population.

About the US STEM Foundation The US STEM Foundation was established to orchestrate a partnership connecting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics businesses and professionals with students to make a real difference in the lives of our youth and the future of our community. Together, our current mentors and volunteers are striving to make a difference and inspire the next generation of STEM professionals. US STEM Foundation exists for a simple reason: to provide the skill set necessary for a new generation of youth and to build a community in which academics and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) can flourish. US STEM Foundation is a catalyst for success, bringing together industry professionals and scholastically curious students to foster growth and friendships that last a lifetime. ​ US STEM subsidizes, organizes, develops and delivers hands-on technical activities for our students. A vast number of our students have gone off to top universities across the United States in pursuit of STEM degrees. These students stay active as leaders in their schools, professional societies, and communities. US STEM also provides scholarships to students with financial needs for higher education in STEM fields. ​ We have nurtured unfocused youth to grow and achieve high honors in a broad range of academics. Our reserved students step out of their shell into technical leadership roles. ​ There is a dire need for the services the US STEM Foundation provides as evident by the critical unmet demand for engineers, scientists, and technology specialists - a core challenge US STEM is embracing.

Lumity provides teens and young adults from underserved communities with transformational experiences to prepare them for lifelong STEM careers.

Partnership and Inspiration for Engineering Education and Entrepreneurship promotes extracurricular programs involving robotics in the Carroll County, Maryland Region. Teams are open to students in grades K-12, with adult mentors guiding them in hands-on preparation for careers and studies in STEM.

The Society advances public understanding of science by publishing Science News, running world‑class pre‑college science competitions (e.g., Regeneron STS, Regeneron ISEF, Broadcom MASTERS), and funding outreach and educator programs to expand STEM access and scientific literacy for students and the broader public.

Our mission is to create pathways and empower at-risk girls in Africa to become self-reliant.

To provide multi-sectoral interventions towards the empowerment of girls and women and improving their lives through capacity building and advocacy.

Our mission is to empower women and youths, especially adolescent girls, to have expanded personal choices, explore their potentials, and control their future so that we can close gender gaps and challenge actions which stunt girls' development in the communities where we operate.
