The Playing With Heart Foundation’s mission is identify gifted youth athletes and help remove the financial barriers that often prevent them from playing year-round competitive sports at the highest level they are capable.
Art with a Heart uses interactive visual arts classes and community art projects to enhance the lives of underserved children, youth, and adults across Baltimore. Their work includes in‑school and out‑of‑school art instruction, workforce development (HeARTworks), leadership training, and public/community art to promote positive social and economic outcomes.

Each year in the United States alone, more than 275,000 women and hundreds of men are diagnosed with breast cancer, and more than 42,000 die from the disease. Another 3 million people are living with the disease. The National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund's mission is to end breast cancer by increasing federal funding for breast cancer research, creating access to breast and cervical cancer care for underserved and uninsured women, and training advocates to play an active role wherever breast cancer decisions are made.

Aventa’s Recovery Model was developed by Dr. Stephanie Covington, using a trauma-informed approach based on theory, research, and clinical experience. Treatment focuses on the connection between trauma and substance abuse in women’s lives. Phase I offers priority admission for pregnant women who require immediate support and stabilization. Phase II is a 6 week intensive residential program providing therapeutic individual and group counselling. Young Adult Treatment(YAT) is a collaboration between AHS and Aventa, for women 18-24. Phase III is a 3 month residential treatment program at our long-term facility available to women who have completed Phase II or YAT and offers individual and group counselling with a strong educational and skill building component. Aventa also provides a continuum of services, which include access to a physician who specializes in addiction medicine, a psychiatrist and nursing staff.

We strive to recognize the uniqueness of the individual while building relationship, creativity, confidence, and self worth in an inclusive environment. Through various programs we encourage team building and develop synergy allowing participants to explore and express their creative spirit. We aspire to challenge, encourage and equip these individuals to join in and build community. Art With A Heart Inc. desires to form relationships within existing support networks through places like mental health centres, substance abuse centres, seniors homes etc., adding on to the existing social services presently provided with a new vehicle of expression, and life skill enhancement.
Harm Reduction Coalition is a national advocacy and capacity-building organization that promotes the health and dignity of individuals and communities impacted by drug use. Our efforts advance harm reduction policies, practices and programs that address the adverse effects of drug use including overdose, HIV, hepatitis C, addiction, and incarceration. Recognizing that social inequality and injustice magnify drug-related harm and limit the voice of our most vulnerable communities, we work to uphold every individual’s right to health and well-being and their competence to participate in the public policy dialogue.
