Up With Books, Inc. provides new books to children living in poverty.

TO PROVIDE PROSPECTIVE ADOPTIVE PARENTS AND BIRTH PARENTS WITH PROFESSIONAL, SENSITIVE AND CONFIDENTIAL SERVICES TO FACILITATE SUCCESSFUL PLACEMENTS THAT MEET THE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS OF ALL MEMBERS OF THE ADOPTION TRIAD.

Bring dignity to families living through poverty, and we do this by providing the tools and resources needed to increase self-awareness, repress the social stigma of lower-income individuals, and improve the quality of life. We have a long-term relationship within the Bushwick Community and because of that, we understand the pulse of the community. As a grassroots organization, and we have become the hands, feet, ears, and mouthpiece for those who are afraid to let their voice be heard. It is our intention to connect those in need with the right resources that will improve their way of living. We partner with other local organizations and business to address the lack of resources in education, job placement, affordable housing, life skills, food insecurities

Description Many Ottawa residents have good quality furniture and furnishings that are surplus to their needs. Every week we collect and deliver these household items. Often we arrive to empty rooms; our task is to leave them furnished and to leave our new neighbours feeling welcomed, and hopeful. Everything we do for them is free. Helping with Furniture is totally staffed and operated by volunteers. It costs us less than $150.00 to furnish a home completely.

Art With Elders uses the power of art, creativity, and community to enrich the journey of aging.

Strengthening veteran families through peer support, education, and special events.

Riding with HEART runs equine-assisted programs that help children, adults, and veterans with physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges. They provide adaptive therapeutic riding, equine-assisted learning and related activities to improve participants’ physical skills, confidence, and social engagement.
