My Sister's Place

“People in Transition (Alliston) Inc., “My Sister’s Place” is a not-for profit organization which provides a broad range of services designed to alleviate the consequences of violence against women and their children. “My Sister’s Place” is a 12-bed emergency shelter for women and their children who are seeking refuge from the violence in their lives. Our core services include a woman’s program, children’s program, transitional housing and support program and an outreach/legal advocacy program. All of these programs provide free and confidential support services, crisis intervention, crisis counselling, individual and group support, safety planning, referrals to community resources, advocacy around housing, legal and economic issues, and public education presentations to community partners on the issue of violence against women and children. Additionally, our Women’s Program is available to women and children seeking service on a 24 hour a day basis, 365 days per year.”
