The IDEAYA Inc Scholarship Fund is based on the premise that by providing opportunities for at-risk, inner city youth to become self-supporting, we enhance the growth of our community as a whole.We work to address the financial and logistic barriers that keep many at-risk youth from gaining tertiary education. IDEAYA Inc. provides vocational/technical training scholarship opportunities for inner city youth of Austin. In addition to financial assistance, we provide mentorships and guidance to help students and their families navigate through the rigors of college life.

Create food security by educating underserved communities on how to use Regenerative Climate Smart Agriculture to replace carbon emitting farming and reforestation practices. Focus on training women and youth on sustainable farming practices to help create long-lasting livelihoods. Reduce the importation of foreign food and increase the export of healthier organically grown food. Collaborate with international corporations to help fund the reduction of carbon through Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies to support underserved farming communities. Reduce crime and poverty by creating opportunities.

The advanced training program at Hire Level Ministry is focused on the individual attainment of sustainable wage employment. Upon successful completion of our program, participants have the opportunity to qualify for continued education scholarship funding. These scholarships are used to train for lifetime vocations. The program at hire level ministry includes wellness, computer skills, and leadership topics that are taught one night a week for 6 months. Additionally, the youth program runs simultaneously and covers the same topics. Any youth, kindergarten or older, living with an adult participant is welcome to join the youth program.

Bududa Learning Center is an umbrella organization that includes a vocational high school, an orphans program for children, and a microfinance program for women. It is located in the isolated mountain district of eastern Uganda. It was founded by Canadian-born Barbara Wybar, who has been living on site a portion of each year for the past 14 years. This isolated region, one of the poorest in Uganda, is over-populated with most families having an average of 8 children. They live by growing their own food. Most of the region has no running water or electricity. Both the education and health care system are severely under-funded and inadequate. Jobs are scarce. Most people are hungry most of the time. How & Who We Help. We work to address the problems in three ways: 1. Training young people in basic trades: carpentry; brick-laying; dress-making and tailoring; nursery teacher training; computer skills training; and hairdressing training. 2. Providing broad support to 170 children and young people, many of them orphans from AIDS, by providing education enrichment, food, and health care. 3. Training and providing micro finance loans to single mothers and grandmothers in the region who are bringing up children on their own and have no means of support, so they can start small businesses. How It Is Run The Center is staffed by Ugandans working in a professional capacity. Barbara Wybar acts as Executive Director and works in a volunteer capacity. There is a growing volunteer contingent of people from the west who visit and do volunteer work there and others who take on management and administrative work in Canada and the US in a volunteer capacity. A guest house and annex provide housing for up to 12 visiting volunteers at a time. Local Oversight A local Advisory Board of the Center, led by Father Paul Buyela, provides oversight to the headmaster of the school and the directors of the two other programs. It is made up of representatives of the teachers, the parents, the regional education board, and the community as well as the executive director. The chairman is a highly respected educator as well as clerical leader in the region at large. Governance and Financial Support Bududa Canada Foundation provides governance to the Center and raises funds from individuals, foundations, and organizations to support the Center. It is incorporated in Canada holds charitable status from the Canadian Revenue Authority (#82535 8286 RR0001). There is a board directors of five people, three of whom are Canadian and two American. Financial support comes from Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Bangalore Rural Educational and Development Society (BREADS) is a non-governmental organization committed to sustainable development. Founded in the year 1993, it is dedicated to the empowerment of the marginalized poor in Kerala and Karnataka State of India irrespective of their caste, creed, gender or political affiliations. BREADS works through the Partners (Don Bosco Development Offices) working at grass root level. BREADS is more involved in policy matters, Capacity building, fundraising and collaborating with the government and non-government funding agencies, while the development partners concentrates on the implementation of the program, its management and monitoring. Over the past 19 years, BREADS has maintained a strong donor base of supporters, a consistent network of thousands of volunteers, development organizations, developmental and technical professionals and hundreds of grassroots level people's organizations actively involved in the development process. BREADS stands for sustainable community development and development of the youths and children by addressing the basic individual and community needs of the marginalized on a long-term basis. Ever since its origin, BREADS has been in the forefront to fight poverty by assisting the poor to enhance their education and skills to find livelihood and sustainable living conditions. Over the years it has helped more than 75000 youths, children and women through various programs/projects and has been actively involved in community initiatives.

Who is Limye Lavi? What does Limye Lavi do? Limye Lavi is a Haitian organization that has been in existence since 1993. It works with marginalized communities in Haiti, especially those that are the most rural. Its mission is to work together with other organizations to help people in the most marginalized communities to cultivate the types of education and experiences that are based on respect and dignity, and which lead to autonomy. Limye Lavi works with all types of people, without distinction, particularly people from marginalized communities. Limye Lavi's main goal is to help the communities it works with to organize themselves and develop strategies so that: - all children in the community attend school and receive a quality education ; - community members neither send children to, nor receive children from the restavek system ; - the rights of all children are respected ; - communities produce more agricultural products and apply good techniques to increase income and improve economic living standards. Fondasyon Limye Lavi's work is focused in 3 main areas: Education, Protection and Defense of Children's Rights, and Agricultural / Economic Accompaniment. 1- Education Limye Lavi holds in-services for teachers and school directors, organizes rural schools into networks to meet together and create solutions for the educational problems experienced in the rural communities, organize themselves to defend children's rights, and work so that all children can go to school and receive a quality education. It incorporates a Match system to help schools cover their budgets, Book Banks so students can have books to study, and Accelerated Programs so older children who haven't had the chance to go to school can benefit from a good education. Limye Lavi also holds trainings for adults in the community to raise parents' awareness of how they can become more effectively involved in their children's education. 2-Protection and Defense of Children's Rights Specifically to protect and defend children's rights, Limye Lavi works to eliminate the restavek system (child labor system) in the rural communities. It holds trainings for community members about children's and youth's rights. It helps communities create committees to defend and protect children's rights, and accompanies the committees in helping the most vulnerable children in the communities, especially those children who return to the rural communities from being in the child labor (restavek) system. 3-Agricultural/Economic Accompaniment To help the communities increase their agricultural production and raise more money to function, Limye Lavi holds trainings focused on money management and agricultural techniques, and accompanies them in improving their planting and technical skills, taking better care of their gardens, and developing economic activities to increase agricultural production, save money and manage credit programs among themselves. Limye Lavi specifically uses methods that are built on participation, that allow people to share ideas and respect each other, develop tolerant and democratic spirits among themselves, and which develop collective ideas and shared leadership in the communities. It develops and uses methods such as: Reflection Circles, Open Space, ESK (Edikayson se yon Konvesasyon- Education is a Conversation), etc.

Ada’s Café is a Palo Alto-based 501(c) 3, non-profit that provides training and jobs for adults with developmental disabilities living primarily in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. The social mission of Ada’s is three-fold: (i) to hire and train adults with disabilities to work in its café and catering businesses, (ii) to engage teens and young adults through work and involvement with Ada’s disabled employees and (ii) to foster a better understanding among the general population about the contributions that can be made by developmentally disabled adults. The benefits of empowering and employing adults with developmental disabilities are clear, innumerable and easy to document with social science statistics. The population of adults with intellectual disabilities is one of the most marginalized in our society, is often ignored and suffers from an unemployment rate estimated at nearly 80%. The self-esteem and health benefits that come from having a job, the satisfaction that comes from making an important contribution to a sustainable enterprise and reducing the burden on an already overwhelmed and under-funded social welfare support system are just a few of the many benefits created by Ada’s. In addition, Ada’s believes that youth engaged in meaningful work will feel more connected to and invested in their communities. In all of its ventures, Ada’s Café brings diverse groups of people together in a warm and welcoming environment with a mission of creating good food and community.

Soles4Souls is a global not-for-profit institution dedicated to fighting the devastating impact and perpetuation of poverty. Soles4Souls advances its anti-poverty mission by collecting new and used shoes and clothes from individuals, schools, faith-based institutions, civic organizations and corporate partners, then distributing those shoes and clothes both via direct donations to people in need and by provisioning qualified micro-enterprise programs designed to create jobs in poor and disadvantaged communities. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Soles4Souls is committed to the highest standards of operating and governance, and holds a four-star rating with Charity Navigator.Soles4Souls distributes shoes and clothing in two ways. Most new items collected primarily from corporations and retailers are given directly to people in need, both in the U.S. and overseas. The organization has relationships with several of the world's leading apparel brands, which provides Soles4Souls with new but non-marketable overstocks, returns, discontinued models and other shoes or clothing items.At the same time, Soles4Souls receives millions of articles of used shoes and clothing that have been collected by individuals, schools, faith-based institutions, civic organizations and corporate partners. After sorting items in its national warehouse system, Soles4Souls typically sells the used shoes and clothing, as well as some new items allocated by manufacturers, to carefully selected micro-enterprise organizations. These both private and non-profit companies are contracted to provide shipping, financing, inventory, training and other support to ultra-small businesses in countries like Haiti where there are virtually no jobs to generate personal income.Through the collection and sale of used (and new) clothing and shoes, Soles4Souls helps create self-sustaining jobs that generate desperately needed revenues throughout those communities. The sale of footwear and apparel to support micro-jobs also provides the majority of funding to sustain Soles4Souls operations and further expand its donations of new shoes and clothing.
