The Advocacy Project - A Voice for the Voiceless The Advocacy Project (AP) helps marginalized communities around the world take action against the root causes of their disempowerment in a way that benefits society as a whole and produces social change. To do this, we partner with community-based advocates who represent these communities and share their problems. Our support for partners is innovative and effective. First, we deploy Peace Fellows (experienced graduate students) to help partners tell their story, launch campaigns, and strengthen their organization: we have deployed 274 Peace Fellows since 2003, and in the process given our Fellows a unique experience. Second, we help partners to raise funds and manage their campaigns: we have raised over $2.5 million for partners, and are currently seeking funds through Global Giving for exciting projects in Nepal, Vietnam and Uganda. Third, we promote the work of partners internationally, using new methods of story-telling such as advocacy quilting: over 300 women have produced embroidered panels for our quilts, which have been shown throughout North America and Europe. The Farmer’s House empowers youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing community-based programs that build job skills, independence, and social inclusion. They deliver vocational training and employment supports through hands-on social enterprises (markets, catering, gardens, etc.) and day/community integration services to help participants pursue meaningful, self-directed lives.

Turning Point is a Christian charity working in the Nairobi slums. Our mission is to demonstrate God's heart for the poor through programmes that relieve poverty, transform lives and restore hope amongst vulnerable children and their families.We offer a holistic range of programmes which provide children with access to education, healthcare and regular meals, in addition to providing them with psycho-social support. We also operate pioneering prevention projects aimed at supporting families.

The Arc Montgomery County connects people of all ages and abilities with their communities to build inclusive and fulfilling lives. We provide daily support services to nearly 1,100 children, youth, adults, and seniors, with and without disabilities, and their families.

The African SOUP's Vision is to transform the lives of Ugandan youth through education system reform. The African SOUP leads a national education reform effort through Active Learning and provides educational opportunities to vulnerable children in rural eastern Uganda. The African SOUP School utilizes the following strategies to fulfill our vision: The African SOUP Model School Secondary Enrichment Program The Active Learning Project Baby SOUP SOUP Model School Mission: To educate, nurture, and inspire scholars to unleash their potential and that of their community. Vision: The African SOUP School will become the premier active learning model school in Uganda Active Learning Project Mission: To improve the quality of primary education across Uganda through the implementation of active learning. Vision: The African SOUP's Active Learning Project will bring active learning into every primary classroom and teacher training college in Uganda. Secondary Enrichment Program Mission: To provide secondary scholarship support, mentorship and leadership training to African SOUP School Alumni so that they develop the skills needed to meet their potential and transform their community. Vision: The African SOUP's Secondary Enrichment Program will produce leaders who will transform their community. Baby SOUP Mission: To serve vulnerable children and pregnant mothers by providing health education, growth monitoring, and nutritional supplements to ensure holistic child development. Vision: The African SOUP Emma's Baby SOUP Program envisions a future where every child has the ability to survive and thrive in Namutumba District. Sustainability Mission: To cover all organizational operating costs through local, income-generating projects. Vision: The African SOUP will become a financially independent and secure Ugandan NGO.

Zambia has about 1 million orphans, this gives Zambia the highest per capita orphans rate in the world. One in every 4 household is a child headed home. About 65% of Zambians earn less than $1.25 per day. The Other Side Foundation is committed in nurturing at grassroots level, Orphans & Vulnerable children through an integrated Values Based Education (Education in Human Values), Nutrition and Health care. We further empower the widows, grandmothers and single mothers of our students through evening adult education, skills training & microloans/seed funding. The Other Side Foundation promotes gender equality and believes that every child needs to eat at least a meal/day, have access to basic healthcare and education.
