The training and technical assistance programs we provide ensure the success of our rural borrowers. Our housing program embodies environmental values while affording low-income families a dignified place to live. In the U.S., SosteNica offers socially conscious investors an opportunity to use financial resources constructively, to have a positive impact on one of the poorest nations in the Americas, while preserving their capital and earning annual interest. Thanks to SosteNica, many of the productive poor of Nicaragua -- small farmers and micro-enterprises -- have access to credit that would be otherwise unavailable. The combination of thoughtful First World investment and careful socially conscious lending to Nicaragua's poorest creditworthy borrowers creates an opportunity for sustainable growth. We dream of rural Nicaraguan families owning their own land, and on that land, growing everything they need to lead healthy, happy lives. We dream of communities of Nicaraguan families supporting one another in good times and in difficult times, celebrating together, and grieving together. We dream of a verdant Nicaraguan landscape, an intact ecosystem free of toxins and pollutants, rich with biodiversity, clean air and fresh sweet water. We dream of ordinary Nicaraguan families having enough resources locally that they never think of emigrating to another country in search of work, families who love where they live and what they do. We dream of young families living in ecological homes built with their own hands out of locally available materials that are both beautiful and sustainable. We dream of a world in which people with resources in one country reach out their hands of support to people in another country struggling to make a sustainable life. We dream of a community of people in the US whose investments reflect their values, where doing good does not conflict with doing well. SosteNica gives US investors an opportunity to achieve their social and environmental as well as their financial dreams and values. With a portfolio of both invested and donated funds, SosteNica promotes natural building for low-income families, organic agro-ecology and reforestation for rural small landholders, and micro-credit for small credit-worthy businesses. 1951 Coffee Company (1951 Coffee) is a non-profit specialty coffee organization seeking to promote the wellbeing of the refugee community in the San Francisco Bay Area by providing job training and employment to refugees while educating the surrounding community about refugee life and issues. 1951 Coffee's name derives from the 1951 Refugee Convention where the United Nations (UN) defined and set forth its first guidelines for the protection of refugees. The UN defines a refugee as someone who owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, is outside the country of his nationality, and is unable to, or owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail himself to the protection of that country. These guidelines were further expanded in the 1967 Refugee Protocols, giving the UN a global mandate. 1951 Coffee Company was founded in 2015 in the spirit of these conventions to give refugees resettling in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area assistance in starting their new lives through opportunities in the rapidly expanding coffee industry. This is accomplished through a barista training program that provides immediately marketable job skills for up to 40 refugees a year and through employment for 10 – 15 refugees annually at the 1951 Coffee Shop located in Berkeley, CA, opening late 2016. Seeking to revolutionize how non-profits, employers, and businesses can empower newly arrived refugees, our organizational model will allow the needs of refugees to be the center of all we do.

TO CONDUCT AN EXTENDED EMPLOYMENT SHELTERED WORKSHOP PROGRAM, TO PROVIDE PRODUCTIVE EMPLOYMENT TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES OVER THE AGE OF 24 YEARS, AND TO PROVIDE OTHER VOCATIONAL OR HABILITATIVE PROGRAMS WHICH ENHANCE THE DEVELOPMENT OF INDEPENDENCE AND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.

Our mission is to protect and support women and children though prevention of, and direct support against, abuse, exploitation and human trafficking. AAT VIETNAM is a peer-based Non-Government Organization which was founded by a social worker with many years experience working in Vietnam and peer educators with a deep understanding of the Vietnamese context. We develop realistic projects to tackle the root causes of abuse, exploitation and human trafficking. AAT VIETNAM is a pioneering NGO which has established the first models of action to tackle the causes and consequences of human trafficking and sexual exploitation in Vietnam over the past fifteen years. AAT VIETNAM is unique thanks to its international task force network of local partners in fifteen countries worldwide, its direct field actions in five countries of Southeast Asia and its relationship and partnership with regional governments. AAT Vietnam's approach is to engage the Vietnamese population and Government to promote social development. Preventative actions though awareness and education are at the core of our activities, in order to achieve mindset changes in our beneficiaries, empowering them to protect themselves. Currently AAT Vietnam is mainly focused on prevention through education at schools to combat social harms and associated issues. We offer a comprehensive extra curricular course to schools with a student-interactive and comprehensive approach, which educates students about Reproductive Health, sexuality, drug use, incest, early marriage, early pregnancy, abortion, self defense, migration, human trafficking, while increasing understanding of gender differences and human rights. Our goal is to make this course adaptable to the Vietnamese National Educational curriculum in order to reach all children in Vietnam and to achieve recognition by the Ministry of Education that this is an essential activity for the well-being of new generations and social development in general. AAT Vietnam also focuses on the assistance and the protection of victims and potential victims of trafficking; offering repatriation, rehabilitation and reintegration services. We are able to offer effective services in this area when the government allows us to access to assess victims and provide support to them. The work of AAT depends on foreign aid assistance.
