The organization operates primarily under the DBA of Tomchei Shabbos of Los Angeles. "Tomchei Shabbos" organizations have been founded in every major metropolitan area to enable Jews to help their impoverished brethren with their most basic food staples for Shabbos/Shabbat and holidays. The Los Angeles organization has expanded its' focus to assist as many needy Jewish families in so many other areas including, but not limited to: Food, Clothing, and Shelter subsidies, Medical Expense Subsidies, Interest Free Loans, Wedding Assistance, Clothing Distribution Programs, and limited cash assistance. In accordance with IRC Guidelines and Revenue Procedures, all direct cash assistance distributions and related programs are reviewed by the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors every month,
