Student LunchBox is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in 2020 to promote college excellence through comprehensive basic needs support. Using innovative resource recovery initiatives, SLB addresses food insecurity and hunger by providing nutritious meals and essential supplies to economically disadvantaged college students across Los Angeles County, enabling them to focus on their education and reach their full academic potential. EVA is a non-profit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service and registered in the State of Illinois. It was created for the purpose of assisting Ecuadorian institutions devoted to educational, social, and health programs for the poor, neglected, and at-risk segments of the population. EVA is run by volunteers, and the various programs are implemented through network of viable, non-profit Ecuadorian institutions previously selected by a careful screening process. EVA requires that all the funds collected and distributed as yearly grants be only used for programmatic objectives of the organization it sponsors. EVA's Community Assistance Grant was instituted in 2008 to improve the quality of life of economically disadvantaged people living in the Chicago Metropolitan area where EVA is located. I Since its inception, we have been giving opportunities to advance educational, health, and human service programs in the local community.
The Food Group works to reduce hunger and expand equitable access to nutritious, culturally relevant food across Minnesota. They distribute fresh produce and groceries through a network of partner food shelves and affordable grocery programs, while also supporting and educating emerging local farmers through Big River Farms to strengthen the regional food system.
To sponsor events that bring together professional leaders of agricultural businesses, production systems, and institutions of higher education – with students – for the purpose of building personal relationships, exchanging ideas, and improving communications, while raising funds for scholarships. In the spring of 2019 Targeting Excellence will have awarded over 1 million in scholarships to students since our founding in 2013.
We support homeless students in Washington State by providing emergency services in the time of crisis. We provide motel stays until shelter can be found. emergency food until services are available. We provide families with a hand up to prevent homelessness. We help kids feel like they live in a community that cares about their education
FOOD For Lane County is a regional food bank that reduces hunger in Lane County by collecting, rescuing, growing and distributing food through a countywide network of partner agencies and meal sites. It also runs programs (e.g., nutrition education, community gardens, meal services) to increase food access and self‑sufficiency for people with limited resources.
OUR DAILY MISSION IS TO ELIMINATE FOOD INSECURITY. We feed people with food, fellowship, and love. We provide food from a community of efforts. Families take home vital groceries; shut-ins enjoy a respite from loneliness while receiving a hot meal; children and teens bring home food for the weekend – all part of a community-wide effort to eliminate food insecurities, address childhood nutrition and extend the hand of God to others. We are an ALL volunteer organization. In 2023 we prepared 19,376 hot meals and provided 120,435 pounds of food to our neighbors in need who live in western Ashe County, North Carolina.
Second Harvest of the Big Bend (SHBB) is a nonprofit charity started in 1982 to address the urgent problem of hunger in the community. The food bank’s mission is to meet the short-term nutritional needs of hungry, food insecure people and lead the community in the fight to end hunger.Because people often have to make difficult choices between feeding themselves and their families, and paying for other necessities, no-cost food assistance can lift a big weight from their shoulders. Thanks to Second Harvest, clients can utilize income to pay for other expenses, such as medicines, school expenses for children, rent and utilities. This helps them to save money, increase assets and strengthen resiliency.
