Universal Chan International Zen Buddhist Center

Universal Chan is a donation-based international 501(c)(3) Buddhist non-profit organization derived from the Chinese Chan Tradition, founded by the Chan Monk Da Xing. Compared to China and other Asian countries where Buddhism is a prevalent religion, the US has only been exposed to Buddhism for less than a century. The goal of the organization and of its affiliations is to spread the Chan Teachings to deeply benefit those interested in learning the teachings of the Buddha. In doing this, we use a modern approach rooted in ancient tradition to expose people to other aspects of ancient Chinese culture connected to this teaching. We hope numerous people will come to learn how to apply this teaching in order to achieve a more satisfying life and find liberation in any situation.

We will accomplish this mission through forms of small groups, trainings, retreats, and getaways. Our goal, is to equip her with knowledge of God’s everlasting love. And, with this understanding, she is able to love others. For the only reason we love is because He first loved us(John 4:19). Her life speaks of His, when she confidently shares her story, when she tenderly mothers her children, when she wisely leads a team, when she kindly cares for a friend, or anything else God has called her to do. We are women who are broken, in constant need of a Savior.

Global Sticky Network

We see the need for resources and relationships that are outside the church walls. In fact, we exist outside the church walls. We care about the hurting, the disconnected, the seeker, and the outcast. In fact, we are those people. We desire to become a people who can live in, thrive in, and impact any city or region of the world. As a result, we try to remain teachable, flexible and uncomfortable in our every day lives. We believe in friendships that can survive sin, tragedies and life’s other great disappointments. In fact, it’s those great disappointments that are now shaping our most significant relationships. We long to connect people with their passion, gift mix, and calling – and ultimately a community in which to live those out. As a result, we see ourselves as a global missionary and ministry training center.
