"The parishioners and staff of St. Christopher value the importance of active participation in ministry, and have thus developed the Commitment to Parish Life program. This program encourages parishioners to pledge their time, talent and treasure insofar as they are able. As a result, our parish offers over 100 various ministries/activities from the more common Lector and Eucharistic ministers, Music ministries, Scripture sharing groups, Religious Education Catechists, Outreach and Boy and Girl Scout groups, to the less common Mission (travel) ministry, charitable giving, Bereavement Support Groups, Caring Clowns, rosary makers, and "Yarn" ministry (whereby parishioners crochet or knit baby blankets for single mothers and lap robes for nursing home residents). We offer something for everyone, so that parishioners of all ages and abilities can find the activity that best suits their time and talent."
The Sisters of Providence were founded in 1840 in West-Central Indiana by Saint Mother Theodore Guerin and her five sister companions from France. Their mission was to bring the gift of education to the young people of the wilderness and to serve as witnesses of God's love. They set about these tasks with great faith and determination, succeeded in establishing schools and orphanages, tending to the sick among their neighbors and sharing the light of God's Providence with whomever they met. Now, in modern times, the Sisters of Providence have expanded their mission to include non-traditional forms of education outside of the classroom. Today you will find the sisters educating the public about environmental and social justice issues, serving as chaplains in prisons and hospitals, providing homes for foster children, advocating for the homeless and rural poor, operating food pantries and a free medical clinic, and counseling families and the elderly. Wherever there is need of God's healing and love, a Sister of Providence will serve.
Chabad of NW Metro Denver was founded in 2003 under the direction of Rabbi Benjy and Leah Brackman. In twelve years of community service, Chabad has become the "one-stop" address for the many needs of the Jewish community. Its multi-faceted programs include: adult education courses, Hebrew (religious) school, summer day camp, explanatory synagogue services, holiday awareness celebrations, counseling and hospital, nursing home and shut-in visitations. In addition, Friday evening is a time for community members to enjoy a Shabbat experience with a delicious dinner together with the rabbi and his family There are no prerequisites for getting involved with Chabad. Regardless of affiliation, background or lack of either, everyone is always welcome. Membership is optional and participation at events, classes or summer camp is never an issue because of lack of financial means. Chabad is here to serve the community and will do its best to help you and your family. Why not be in touch? We are waiting to hear from you.
Shores of Grace is a worship and missionary ministry currently headquartered in Recife, Brazil, led by Nic and Rachael Billman. Our focus is setting those in prostitution and abuse free and walking them through restoration; taking the love of the Father to the poor and the broken and helping them see their true value, and equipping and serving the church in Brazil (with bases in Recife, Rio and Fortaleza). The goal of our staff is to reveal Father God in all that we do. Whether we’re leading worship in a church, walking the streets of Brazil or shopping at the local grocery store, we want to reveal the Father. This is the calling that God has placed on our lives and we believe it’s a calling for the whole church, for all of the sons and daughters of the living God. To live a life of compassion and power where miracles and healing follow us everywhere we go, just as they did with Jesus. We also have a base in Philadelphia, PA where Luke and Alisan Billman live their lives with compassion and power for the people in communities surrounding their home.
When you visit the JCK we are sure that you will feel at home at our various services, programs, and social events. The JCK family is known for its intimate, welcoming, inclusive, and informal character where our Jewish culture and traditions come to life in vibrant and modern ways. We welcome non-Jewish partners to participate in all areas of congregational life. Whether you are looking for a spiritual connection, Jewish education, opportunities for social action, or social programming, the JCK has what you have been looking for in a congregation! As the rabbi of the JCK, my goal is to facilitate the presentation of Judaism, our texts, culture, theology, food, and Israel, in a way that will instill a sense of excitement and wonderment in Jews of all ages, and lead toward increased curiosity, spirituality and a real sense of community. At the JCK we empower our community members to take ownership of the aspects of Judaism with which they identify, interact, and in which they are most invested; guiding them towards greater confidence in their Jewish identities and practice. We look forward to welcoming you at one of our services or other great events during the year. B’shalom (in peace), Rabbi Josh Leighton
CELEBRATE! – Who, How and Why We Serve Jill’s House celebrates children with special needs and provides relief to the extraordinary families who love them through short-term, overnight respite care. Meeting Children Where They Are – Their Home Away from Home We authentically love all children that come to Jill’s House and their families. They inspire others. Their stories impact our lives in the most positive ways, and we strive to impact theirs by providing a safe, fun place full of adventure and activities made just for them. Jill’s House is designed around the children, we adjust to them, not them to us. The activities are carefully and strategically planned to meet the child where they are, with the purpose of bringing normalcy to childhood. We provide cozy and comfortable sleeping areas for safe and secure overnight stays, with constant and watchful care. Many of the children experience, for the first time: -Slumber parties -Birthday parties -Going to camp -Swimming in our indoor accessible pool -Singing in our music room -Creating crafts in our art room -Shooting hoops in our gymnasium -Playing outside on the specially equipped playground Changing The Face of Disability Ministry Jill’s House is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to providing support for families (without regard to race, religion or ethnicity) raising children who have special needs through short-term overnight care and activities allowing respite for their families. We want to change the face of disability ministry in America so that each family of a special child has respite within reach and access to a church that embraces them. Why? Respite: Restored and Better Equipped The parents, caregivers and siblings of these special children are extraordinary human beings. They face the same day-to-day struggles as most with the added concern, dedication, stress and exhaustion that comes with raising a child with special needs. Overnight respite allows parents to: -Take time away and focus on their marriages. -Devote more time to typical siblings. -Continue their education to improve their family’s quality of life. -Get ahead on work. -Catch up with old friends. -Best of all, let go and release any guilt or fear, because they know their child is happy and safe. How? Through Christ, in Prayer On a foundation of vibrant faith in Jesus Christ, we work with purposeful excellence, engaging everyone we encounter with compassion and joyfully serving every child and family who walks through our doors. It is this faith and emphasis that we pray will continue to distinguish Jill’s House for years to come.
Mission in the Third Millennium challenges Maryknoll Sisters to respond as women yearning for authentic justice and reconciliation in the midst of a fractured and divided world. Called to reflect God's compassionate and inclusive love, we are sent to walk with peoples of many lands, crossing the boundaries of culture, race and religious beliefs. Maryknoll Sisters live the gospel values through a variety of ministries. We are engaged in evangelization, pastoral work, education and social welfare, medicine, communications, agriculture and science. We serve the poor wherever we find them: in their homes, in prisons, in hospitals, in refugee camps, and on the streets. Some of us work with youth groups, women and the elderly, and in the arts and communications. Others promote and participate in ecumenical and interfaith dialogue. Often we find ourselves networking with national and international non‑governmental organizations. Wherever we are and in whatever we do, we strive to participate effectively in the mission presence and activity of the Universal Church so that God's Reign of peace, justice and love may be proclaimed and witnessed to throughout the world. Mission means seeding hope wherever we are.
Congregation Anshai Torah has been the spiritual home to the Dallas Jewish Community since 1980 when Anshai Emet was formed. In 1998 Congregation Shomray Torah was formed and later that year the two merged to form what is now Congregation Anshai Torah. We now provide spiritual, educational, cultural, social activities, programs, and services to more than 500 families. Guided by the principles of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, Anshai Torah welcomes Jews of the widest possible demographic categories – young and young at heart, men and women, single and married, with children and without children, traditional observing and less traditional observing. Anshai Torah is open to all, regardless of financial status. Our congregants are asked and expected to contribute dues and donations based on our fee structure and their ability. Membership categories are designed to help with these commitments. Members of Anshai Torah are privileged to have many opportunities to experience the joy of Jewish living. Although our doors are open to the entire community for most of our programs and activities, daily minyans, and Shabbat services, we do have space considerations that require us to limit admissions to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services. Our Religious school enrollment are available only to members. And only members enjoy the right to vote at congregational meetings and serve on the Board of Directors. Members are encouraged to participate in many of our volunteer opportunities.
Street Life Ministries exists to mobilize and train volunteers in the Body of Christ to be engaged as part of the solution for those in need both in New York City and their own community by bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in creative, practical, and relevant means. Our agenda is twofold: 1) To serve the people in the Body of Christ through the mobilization & equipping of the saints for a life-style of worship, prayer, intercession, the Word & Evangelism and "short or long-term" service to help fulfill the Great Commission. 2) To reach the people who are outside of God's eternal family whom He longs to be brought home to Himself! One of the vehicles used literally to carry out evangelism is our "Step Van Ministry" whereby we bring a truck with soup, bread, drink, and clothing to various parts of the city. We offer practical help like referrals for Detox/Rehabs/Churches,12 steps/Jobs/Shelters/food pantry, AIDS hospice, any and all heartfelt needs we look to meet right away. SLM is also involved with worship and intercession in the Body of Christ as we meet together to intercede for our communities, city, and nation. At other times, we bring worship and intercession directly to the streets where we firmly believe God's presence draws others to Himself. Another avenue used for evangelism in combination with the Step Van Ministry or alone is Prayer Stations. A banner that reads, "Prayer Station" which is set up on a table along with the aprons worn by workers, remarkably draws people for prayer. We have visited many churches to challenge the Body and then see them come with us on the streets to serve. We also have teams of college age, youth, and all ages come on a weekly basis throughout the year to serve.

THE VISION OF OPERATION M46 IS TO IGNITE A REVOLUTION. THE DEFINITION OF A REVOLUTION IS THE PHYSICAL OVERTHROW OF A CURRENT SOCIAL ORDER. THE CURRENT SOCIAL ORDER IS NOT ONLY CHARACTERIZED BY FATHERLESS HOMES BUT ALSO VISIONLESS HOMES WHERE THE FATHER IS NOT THE SPIRITUAL LEADER. OUR HOMES, CHURCHES, COMMUNITIES, AND COUNTRY ARE UNDER ATTACK. PROVERBS 29:18 SAYS, WHERE THERE IS NO VISION, PEOPLE PERISH. THE VISION OF OPERATION M46 IS TO EQUIP FATHERS TO BE THE SPIRITUAL LEADERS OF THEIR FAMILY.
Mission Arlington volunteers go into apartments, nursing homes, and neighborhoods to share God's Word with the community.
