Slum Film Festival is the first ever film platform-featuring stories from slums, about slum realities and made by filmmakers from the slums in Africa - and beyond. It is a celebration of the creativity of filmmakers living and working in slums. It is also an opportunity to show a range of films within slum communities who have limited or no access to cinema. The first pilot edition of the festival was celebrated with success in August 2011. This program has now been extended and expanded in subsequent 4 editions between 2012 and 2014. The festival has reached out for submissions from across Africa and indeed the world. It has gathered audiences from thousands of slum dwellers and urban culture enthusiasts. There are numerous international film festivals around the world, but the Slum Film Festival is exceptional in its mission to be celebrated within slums, and it is dedication to sharing slum stories. More than just a festival, it is aiming to become an international film platform for young independent voices and upcoming and established filmmakers from across the universe. 2 The Organisation The Slum Film Festival is an independent organization, whose goal is to develop a network of partnerships with media production groups, organize film awards, facilitate and organise film screenings and conduct other film and arts related events across Africa's informal settlements, promoting and sharing slum stories from across the world, and becoming a key network for the distribution of films made by and about slum communities. Having run as a project of 2 media organisations [Slum TV and Hotsun Foundation] for 3 years, Slum Film Festival is now registered as an independent Community Based Organisation. 3 Our Objectives and Aims The Slum Film Festival does not aim to legitimise the existence of informal human settlements, but to raise public attention to pertinent issues here, while promoting and celebrating the creativity of the people who live in these communities. The aims of the Slum Film Festival are: To offer a platform for films from slum communities to reach broader audiences, and facilitate disenfranchised filmmakers in joining the international film circuit. To promote dialogue about life in slums that goes beyond stereotyping, using stories from slum communities to promote deeper perceptions about life in the slums. The Slum Film Festival demonstrates that slums are also a home for the very talented, creative and culturally active artists. For the festival event to become a magnet for media attention, while changing media discourses about slum realities. This media presence can also allow mainstream media to acknowledge the presence of smaller slum-based media content producers, and promote new partnerships. To support the expansion of the festival into new slum locations, eventually becoming a networked festival for celebrating the diversity of Pan-African and global creativity.

Title: Free School Education for the Poorest Children in Village Areas: A Mission of Hope and Change Introduction In many villages across Pakistan, countless children wake up every morning to face a life burdened by poverty, hunger, and hopelessness. These children, despite having dreams and potential, are often denied the basic right to education. Education, which should be the foundation of their future, becomes an unreachable goal due to financial constraints, lack of resources, and the absence of support systems. Recognizing this critical need, we have launched a revolutionary initiative: a Free School System for the Poorest Children in Village Areas. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to provide completely free education-from basic needs to academic growth-for children who otherwise would never get the chance to step inside a classroom. This includes not just books and uniforms, but also food, emotional support, and life skills. We believe that no child should be left behind because of poverty. Chapter 1: The Harsh Reality in Rural Pakistan In rural areas of Pakistan, families often survive on daily wages, if at all. Children are either forced to work in fields, beg on streets, or stay at home caring for siblings while their parents work. For many of these families, education is considered a luxury they cannot afford. Schools may be too far, lack basic infrastructure, or demand fees and supplies the parents simply can't manage. In some villages, there are no schools at all. In others, the schools that exist may be under-resourced, with untrained teachers and crumbling buildings. Many students drop out due to financial pressure or because the family doesn't see immediate benefits from education. The result? A continuous cycle of poverty that passes from generation to generation. Chapter 2: The Vision of Free Education Our vision is to break this cycle by offering 100% free schooling to the most disadvantaged children. We don't just open classrooms; we open doors to a new life. Our schools are places where children can learn, grow, and discover their purpose. Every student enrolled receives: Free Admission: No child is turned away due to inability to pay. Free Books and Stationery: Ensuring every child has the tools they need to succeed. Free School Bags and Uniforms: Creating a sense of equality and dignity. Free Daily Meals: Providing nutrition so that hunger never stands in the way of learning. Free Primary and Secondary Education: Building a strong academic foundation. But our work doesn't end there. We plan to accompany our students through every stage of growth. Chapter 3: Moving Beyond School - Vocational Training Once students complete their secondary education, they are enrolled in vocational training programs tailored to their interests and the needs of the job market. Our goal is to prepare them for real-world opportunities that can support their families and uplift their communities. Training programs include: Tailoring and Stitching Computer and IT Skills Spoken English Beauty and Wellness Training for Girls Social Media and Digital Marketing Entrepreneurship and Career Counseling We provide these trainings free of cost, often with stipends and materials included, so our students can focus on learning. Many graduates go on to find jobs, start small businesses, or even return to help teach the next generation. Chapter 4: The Dream of a College Our long-term goal is to establish a Free College where deserving students can pursue higher education without worrying about finances. By doing this, we aim to create future doctors, teachers, engineers, social workers, and leaders who will bring change not just in their families, but in society at large. We envision our students becoming the voice of progress in their villages. Running a completely free school system is not easy. Our challenges include: Financial Struggles: We rely entirely on donations. Without consistent support, expansion becomes difficult. Lack of Infrastructure: Many of our schools are in rented or semi-constructed buildings. Shortage of Teachers and Staff: Volunteers help, but we need trained, full-time educators. Transportation Issues: Many children walk long distances to school. Despite these obstacles, our passion never fades. Every challenge only deepens our faith and strengthens our resolve. We dream of a Pakistan where no child is deprived of education. Where schools are full, not empty. Where every village has a safe space for learning. The Reaching Out Project operates mainly in Cambodia providing opportunities for children to education. Our Mission is to improve and transform the lives of impoverished and vulnerable children in Cambodia and beyond. The core of our mission is to help and support children to continue school and reverse the phenomenon and extended trend of children drop out of school in Cambodia and Region, ensuring that children stay in school. Poverty, lack of transportation and mental health disorders are the primary reasons that children in Cambodia and the wider region permanently drop out of school. Our cause is rooted in the fundamental belief that education is the only path towards a better life, out of poverty and mental health disorders. The Reaching out Project's mission focus and helps thousands of vulnerable children and their families, and creating a pathway to escape a world of permanent poverty and forced labor, through education, enhancing living conditions, educational opportunities, and mental health support. We support Children, Schools and Communities to break this poverty cycle and improve mental health as a Global Call for Action, to succeed our cause. A safe, secure, and sustainable environment, education and child-friendly schools (as a National Call from Government) are the key factors ensuring that children stay in school and grow up sustainably. Our nonprofit organisation, established and registered in Greece, operates without intermediaries. We personally provide help and support to children, schools, and communities. We are present with our team in Cambodian communities, working hand in hand with those we serve, going door to door and standing shoulder to shoulder with families, children, and teachers to understand the real problems and find the best solutions to ensure that children attend school and do not abandon their studies due to the challenging conditions in which they live. Children in school are at the heart of our actions. Our partners in Cambodia, Europe, Canada and Asia support us in achieving this goal. When we are in Europe, we raise awareness about the situation and gather the resources needed through our supporters' network and various actions and programs for fundraising. This initiative has been supported by our supporters, partners and volunteers in Greece, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, Thailand and France who embraced our cause and aim to make this goal a reality for all the children who need support. We inform our supporters about the real problems we encounter and discuss the resources required to solve these problems. It is as simple as that. While in Cambodia, we maintain direct communication with children, teachers, families, within their communities and the Districts. We address not only daily issues but also work towards the development of a holistic plan to ensure that children can get to school and fight the poverty that is so prevalent in these communities. We invest in improving their mental and psychological health, transforming them into tomorrow's citizens who will be valuable to their country and society through education. Our Integration of Needs Innovation System Our Integration of Needs Innovation System provides us with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges at hand. This drives our efforts towards succeeding in our aim and mission, and results in significant progress in children's lives. Children in School. Our 'Shoulder to Shoulder', 'Door to Door', 'Brainery Centre Academy", and 'Grandmothers' programs are tailored to the unique characteristics of each school, community, family, and child. These programs, designed for teachers and families, could later serve as guidelines for the education sector, providing examples to other schools and communities about how to operate effectively. We invest in the 'Zero Hunger and Nutritious Food', 'Mental and Psychological Health Improvement and Skills' programs. We support data collection and analysis to assist Governments and Districts in assessing progress efforts across various outcomes and strengthening the overall education system. Our efforts promote transparency, shedding light on problems children facing in education, ensuring that students, parents, and communities have all the information they need and support to encourage children to stay in school. As The Reaching out Project we developed a system based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and work towards to succeed in our mission and objectives. We have developed a comprehensive approach called the Integration of Needs Innovation System to address and meet all the adopted 10 SDGs and achieve better and faster results for poor and vulnerable children. Our Integration of Needs Innovation System acknowledges each child's needs are unique and should be addressed under integrated process so to monitor real impact in lives of each child. This Innovation System we apply as Organisation provides us with knowledge and ways of understanding the problems in the field, assessing them and manage them, towards succeeding our mission. Our approach not only aligns with the top six sustainable Development Goals (sDGs) adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. The Reaching Out Project's program goes beyond this universal call. We have established and follow a more ambitious system which utilises 10 SDGs, leading to sustainable growth, child-friendly schools, safe and secure communities with better living conditions, and an environment where children grow up free from any violence, injury, and existing current hazards to children's mental and psychological health. The Reaching out Project thinks Global and acts Local. We support all children in their own environment under sustainable growth, aiming a continuous schooling for all. The Reaching out Project remains focus of establishing and implement innovatory programs and projects that will gain to children a better life. Education is a fundamental right for any child.

Lo-fi believes that human-powered activities should be physically, emotionally, and mentally rewarding and, most importantly, they should be fun. We are not alone in our belief that over time, human-powered activities such as riding a bicycle, walking, or jumping around on a pogo stick can make people happier, healthier, and strengthen ties within our communities. The mission of the Dara Foundation is the implementation of projects aimed at improving of living conditions and expanding of opportunities for development of orphans and children with disabilities. We proceed from the firm belief that all children are talented and all children have equal rights to education and development.
