Founded in 1983, The Wooden Floor is one of the most progressive arts-for-youth nonprofit organizations in the country. We transform the lives of young people in low-income communities through the power of dance and access to higher education. In Orange County and through our national licensed partners, we use a long-term approach grounded in exploratory dance education to foster the resources within each child to innovate, communicate, and collaborate – skills necessary for success in school and in life. 100 percent of students who graduate from The Wooden Floor immediately enroll in higher education. The mission of The Emmaus Ministry for Grieving Parents is two fold: (1) To spiritually support grieving parents in dealing with one of life's most challenging and horrific experiences--the death of a child of any age by any cause, no matter how long ago(2) To empower Catholic archdioceses and dioceses and their grieving parents to support other grieving parents by bringing this ministry to their local areas.Currently we offer our programs in cooperation with 12 Catholic archdioceses and dioceses throughout the United States, and in parishes in CT, RI, and AZ, in addition to County Kerry, Ireland.
