UN Women USA

UN Women is the global champion for gender equality, working to develop and uphold standards and create an environment in which every woman and girl can exercise her human rights and live up to her full potential. We are trusted partners for advocates and decision-makers from all walks of life, and a leader in the effort to achieve gender equality. UN Women USA is an independent non-profit, 501c3 organization that supports UN Women programs. These projects promote social, political, and economic equality for women and girls spanning 100 countries around the globe. In the past, UN Women has offered support such as: Opening women’s access to finance and expanding employment options in Pakistan, resulting in secure employment for 1,000 women and growing. Training more than 6,000 women in marketing and business management in Ethiopia. Extending paralegal services for survivors of domestic violence in the marginalized Roma communities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, leading to a 50-per-cent increase in requests for help. Launching “Safe Cities Free of Violence against Women and Girls” in several cities. Formerly known as the U.S. National Committee for UN Women.

World Central Kitchen

Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a nonprofit organization that is first to the frontlines providing fresh meals in response to crises. Applying their model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time, WCK has served more than 300 million nourishing meals around the world. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes with the urgency of now to start cooking and serving meals to people in need. By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of local restaurants, food trucks, or emergency kitchens, WCK serves comforting meals to survivors of disasters quickly and effectively. To support regional economies, WCK prioritizes purchasing local ingredients to cook with or distribute directly to families in need. Equality Now creates linkages between the voices and experiences of women and girls and the governmental, community and private institutions that govern their lives; mobilizes national and international public pressure on behalf of their stated needs; and brings together individuals and organizations sharing this common vision of human equality.

Free the Slaves

Free the Slaves works to free the 21 to 30 million people in slavery around the world today, and help them rebuild their lives, by transforming the social, economic and political factors that allow slavery to persist. We support community-driven interventions in partnership with local groups that help people to sustainable freedom and dismantle a region’s system of slavery. We convince governments, international development organizations and businesses to implement key changes required for global eradication. We document and disseminate leading-edge practices to help the anti-slavery movement work more effectively. We raise awareness and promote action by opinion leaders, decision makers and the public. Free the Slaves is building a world without slavery.

The Sentry

The Sentry shines a spotlight on the predatory networks that profit from conflict and repression. We uncover the evidence and make sure those responsible are held to account.

Global Foodbanking Network

The mission of The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) is to alleviate world hunger.  We do this by collaborating to develop food banks in communities where they are needed around the world and by supporting food banks where they already exist.

MAKAIA

MAKAIA is a non-profit organization strengthens capacities for social development through technology, innovation and international cooperation. Our vision is that every person and organization has knowledge and information to increase opportunities to transform themselves and their communities. MAKAIA means "to build" or "make" in Miskito (Indigenous Language from Honduras). The name represents MAKAIAs objective of building alliances and relationships oriented to the social and economic development.

Corals for Conservation

Corals for Conservation (C4C) addresses poverty-driven coral reef decline by developing sustainable, community-appropriate enterprises designed to shift the burden away from over-used and depleted fisheries resources. C4C promotes "coral gardeners" as new profession for resorts, providing employment and added value to the industry while contributing to coral reef conservation and restoration. We recognize that if people and industry are major parts of the problem then they are also major parts of the solution.

Mission Bambini

Our mission is to aid and support children suffering from poverty, sickness, lack of education or who have experienced physical or moral violence, by offering them the opportunity and the hope of a new life. It is an independent, lay organisation and is also designated an ONLUS (Non-profit organisation of social value). It operates without discrimination of culture, ethnicity and religion and upholds the United Nations rights of the child. The Foundation works around the world and is closest to the weakest and most neglected children offering them food, medicine, health care, education and programmes for social reintegration. In pursuing its goal, Mission Bambini is inspired by the following values: freedom, justice, truth, respect for others and solidarity.
