The mission of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community.To fulfill our mission we: Source and acquire food and other products and distribute to people in need through charitable agencies or directly through programs; Energize the community to get involved and support hunger relief; Conduct hunger education and awareness campaigns and advocate for public policies that alleviate hunger.Our vision is that no one goes hungry in Los Angeles County. The Food Bank, founded in 1973, provides food and other products to people seeking food assistance throughout Los Angeles County. We also energize the community to get involved and support hunger relief through volunteerism, food and fund drives, financial and in-kind support. The Food Bank also conducts hunger education and awareness campaigns and advocates for public policies that alleviate hunger. With the help of 31,000 volunteers and financial supporters, the Food Bank distributed over 60 million pounds of food in 2011 including 14 million pounds of fresh produce. We serve over 1 million individuals throughout Los Angeles County each year. The Food Bank also has nutrition education classes for local schools. Additionally, we make every effort to educate the public about the problem of hunger.

Baby2Baby is dedicated to providing low-income children ages 0-12 with basic necessities such as diapers, clothing, and hygiene products to help them thrive. They partner with social service agencies and community organizations to ensure children living in poverty have access to essential items that support their health, dignity, and well-being. The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The American Red Cross, through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners, is always there in times of need. We aspire to turn compassion into action so that all people affected by disaster across the country and around the world receive care, shelter and hope; our communities are ready and prepared for disasters; everyone in our country has access to safe, lifesaving blood and blood products; all members of our armed services and their families find support and comfort whenever needed; and in an emergency, there are always trained individuals nearby, ready to use their Red Cross skills to save lives. Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) acts as a first responder to vulnerable communities affected by disasters around the world. GEM is dedicated to restoring hope and opportunity in the lives of those most affected by disasters. The organization provides immediate relief, assists communities during the gap period before receiving assistance from other institutions, and engages in long-term recovery efforts with sustainable development practices. This three-phased approach allows GEM to provide individuals and families with the help they need when they need it most.

Airlink is a global humanitarian organization delivering critical aid to communities in crisis by providing airlift and logistical solutions to nonprofit partners, changing the way the humanitarian community responds to disasters around the world. Our funding comes from donations and in-kind awards from airlines, aviation sector businesses, foundations, and individuals. We build long-term relationships with airlines, who provide Airlink with access to airlift to harness the power and speed of aviation to deliver humanitarian aid and responders in the wake of natural or man-made disasters. Airlink ensures the right aid gets to communities in need at the right time.

Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is first to the frontlines providing fresh meals in response to crises. Applying our model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time, WCK has served hundreds of millions nourishing meals around the world. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes with the urgency of now to start cooking meals for people in need. WCK serves comforting meals to survivors of disasters quickly by partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of local restaurants, food trucks, or kitchens. To support regional economies, WCK prioritizes purchasing local ingredients to cook with or distribute. Food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis.

The California Fire Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, provides emotional and financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters, firefighters and the communities they protect.
