Convent of the Sacred Heart combines an outstanding academic experience with an environment that nurtures the heart, mind and spirit of its young women. We offer a rigorous and challenging curricular program for young women from pre-k through grade 12. The intertwining of intellect and soul is the essence of a Sacred Heart education. Inherent in what makes Sacred Heart unique is a rich history that began at the turn of the 19th century. In 1800, St. Madeleine Sophie Barat founded the Society of the Sacred Heart in France, with the singular and revolutionary goal of educating women. Her vision of personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom continues to guide us today. Convent of the Sacred Heart at 91st Street is part of a worldwide Network of Sacred Heart schools. Our Goals and Criteria, derived from St. Madeleine Sophie?s original concept of an ideal education, form the framework of our educational philosophy. As they have for 200 years, Sacred Heart women positively influence the world by thinking critically, acting with courage and compassion, and manifesting an informed and lively faith.

The mission of Hospice of the Sacred Heart is to provide comfort, care, hope and choice to patients and their families while guiding them through their end of life journey.

Chicago Foundation for Women invests in women and girls as catalysts, building strong communities for all. CFW funds organizations working to solve the biggest problems facing women and girls: economic insecurity, violence, and access to health care and information.
