The not-for-profit Saltwater Artists Gallery is a cooperative adventure in the arts. The gallery is a non-profit which is owned and operated by the membership. Each summer, approximately twenty-five jury-selected artists exhibit. They work in every medium: painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, woodturning, stained glass, jewellery, and pottery. The gallery shares an eclectic mix with the visiting public and hosts several events throughout the season.
We know that change takes time and long-term commitment is crucial. We know that people don't want handouts. They want service and reliability. We know that when people have their basic needs met, they can do incredible things.
luvHAITI launched in September 2009. Since that time, we have sent multiple missions teams (building and/or medical), mostly concentrating on the town of Anse à Galets on the Island of La Gonave. In early 2012 we launched the luvHAITI MicroBank, which provides loans to qualified applicants. These loans, between $300 and $800, provide the economic opportunity to start or grow a business with the expectation of repayment. To date, all of the loans that have gone to term have been repaid. Donations to the luvHAITI MicroBank provide the opportunity for self-sufficiency, employment and community development. For more details, please visit luvHAITI.com.
