WHA is dedicated to meeting the needs of the underserved among us by providing in-depth medical and dental care, at no cost to the patient, without regard to ethnicity, political orientation or religion. Founded in 2007, WHA has conducted Medical and Dental Missions around the globe, serving those who do not otherwise have access to needed health care. WHA Team members currently number over 700, including medical professionals from Vietnam, Myanmar, Canada, The Kingdom of Bhutan, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Canada and across the United States.

Rotary World Help

Originally, we gathered and shipped medical supplies and equipment to existing hospitals who couldn't fully operate due to a lack of supplies and equipment. Today, our main focus is still on supplies and medical equipment, but we have expanded to include dental, optical, education and sports equipment and supplies as well as disaster relief.

We work in six regions located in Africa, Asia, Asia Pacific, Europe Latin and North America & the Caribbean. WBU programs and activities reflect the following six priority areas: 1. Promoting equalization of opportunities and full participation in society for blind and partially sighted persons. 2. Enhancing empowerment and self-esteem of blind and partially sighted persons. 3. To be an international resource on issues relating to vision loss. 4. Providing an international forum for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of vision loss. 5. Strengthening programs and services related to the education, health, welfare, social security, rehabilitation and general well-being of blind and partially sighted people. 6. Promoting prevention of blindness initiatives. The work of the WBU is carried out by working groups & committees made up of volunteers from our membership who bring their skills and expertise from various sectors to enhance our capacity.

One World Link

OWL promotes friendships between the communities of Bo in Sierra Leone and Warwick District in the UK. Our link is inspired by a desire for justice, equality, human understanding and mutual support. It has helped to strengthen both communities and their awareness of global and development issues.
