For more than 17 years, Science Alberta Foundation (SAF) has created and delivered innovative programs that promote science literacy in Alberta. We stand alone in taking science where it’s needed most — to families, teachers, librarians and local organizations; within homes, classrooms and learning facilities; from the largest cities to the smallest towns in every corner of Canada’s fastest growing province. Our efforts are inspiring minds and changing futures. As science-related issues become more prevalent in our daily lives and the need for skilled knowledge-workers continues to grow, Science Alberta Foundation will have an even more important role to play. Built on a founding vision of scientific learning as a catalyst to continued prosperity in the global marketplace, SAF has emerged as North America’s first and only source of science-related programs and resources for parents, teachers, librarians and local organizations to use in their homes, classrooms and facilities.

The Isaac Foundation was created to in 2006, shortly after our son Isaac was diagnosed with MPS VI. Our goal is to raise funds and awareness, in order to find a cure for Isaac and all children with this devastating and progressive disease throughout Canada and the rest of the world. We are a volunteer run charity, with all money raised going directly to MPS research projects throughout the world. More information can be found at www.theisaacfoundation.com.

Mission Statement The Shamwari Foundation exists to protect wildlife and biodiversity, uplift surrounding communities, and educate future generations - by supporting hands-on conservation initiatives, building strong local and global partnerships, and offering donors a meaningful way to contribute to long-term sustainability.

At the Harlequins Foundation, the power of sport and the spirit of Harlequins come together to fuel real, lasting change. Buster Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and re-homing pit bulls and bully breed mixes. Through decades of cruelty, unethical breeding and irresponsible ownership, a once beloved family dog has now found itself the victim of discrimination and abuse, and a source of misdirected public fear.   We believe that every dog is an individual, deserving of a loving home, proper care, and a fair shake, regardless of breed. We hope our efforts lead to a better educated and more compassionate public.   The Buster Foundation is an ALL VOLUNTEER organization, and does not operate a shelter. All Buster dogs are cared for in foster homes by volunteers who commit their homes and free time to rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption efforts. We make every effort to have a volunteer respond to inquiries and questions within 72 hours. Please be patient and do try again to reach us if you have not received a response within this time frame.

The Thiel Foundation defends and promotes freedom in all its dimensions: political, personal, and economic. How do we do this? 1) By supporting innovative scientific research and new technologies that empower people to improve their lives. 2) By championing organizations and individuals who expose human rights abuses and authoritarianism in all its guises. 3) By encouraging the exploration of new ideas and new spaces where people can be less reliant on government and where freedom can flourish.

The Ssubi Foundation undertakes the following activities in Uganda, East Africa; 1.providing financial aid and school supplies (including school fees, uniforms, scholastic materials, medical costs, meals and transportation); 2.supporting the existing Ugandan school system by, building new school blocks or renovating existing schools, providing scholastic materials, and providing training and/or competitive salaries to teachers; and, 3. establishing micro-financing opportunities to help Ugandan families start small businesses.

The Desai Foundation's mission is to empower women and children through community programming to elevate health, livelihood, and menstrual equity in rural India. We focus on sustainable development through programs in menstrual health, vocational training, and health and hygiene. Our goal is to create dignified pathways for individuals to dream beyond their circumstances. We believe in nurturing and building self-reliance, and our programs are designed to develop the skills, resources, and opportunities needed for communities to thrive. Our approach is community-led and focused on long-term impact, ensuring that our work is both meaningful and sustainable.

The Posse Foundation benefits both students and college campuses and is rooted in the belief that a small, diverse group of talented students – a "posse" – carefully selected and trained, serves as a catalyst for individual and community development. As the United States becomes an increasingly multicultural society, Posse believes that the leaders of the 21st century should reflect the country's rich demographic mix. The key to a promising future for our nation rests on the ability of strong leaders from diverse backgrounds to develop consensus solutions to complex social problems. Posse's primary aim is to cultivate these leaders of tomorrow.

The Moss Foundation's mission is to Motivate, Encourage, and Inspire children in Detroit in three ways: Housing, Education and Residential Treatment Facilities. Motivate (Housing): We want to MOTIVATE current and prospective residents to become homeowners so that our children have stable environments to learn and play in. Encourage (Education): We want to ENCOURAGE our children to become EDUCATED ENTREPRENEURS. We provide annual scholarships to Detroit children who are majoring in business with an interest in entrepreneurship. Inspire (Residential Treatment Facilities): We believe that every Detroit child should have access to mental health Children are truly an Inspiration and we support our children with residential treatment facilities.

While we do have our own PEC Fund and accept donations to this Fund, we currently manage 10 other funds, funds established by your neighbours and local County organizations. When you select "DONATE NOW" the funds are listed under the Fund/Designation option, with our PEC Fund listed first. You can donate to any of the 10 funds as well as the PEC Fund by selecting the fund of your choosing here. A Community Foundation can also manage endowment funds which are set up by individuals or families who want to leave a legacy to the community. Again, these endowment funds are directed to the specific charities of the endowers choosing. Contact us directly for more details on this option.

Metchosin’s coast, meadows, forest, woodlands and mountainous areas include some of Canada’s rarest species and ecosystems. Being located in the rainshadow of the Olympic Mountains has produced a mild, seasonally dry climate that favours flora and fauna that are unique in Canada. Our Garry oak woodland is one of the rarest ecosystems in Canada, featuring displays of camas and fawn lilies that draw admirers from far and wide. The remnant old growth Coastal Douglas-fir forests at Mary Hill and Rocky Point are considered globally significant. The Metchosin Foundation was started in order to preserve our rare species and the forests and meadows that they inhabit. To that end we work with landowners to ensure that the landscapes they love will be protected into the future. Facilitating and supporting conservation covenants is the main tool at our disposal to help preserve these ecosystems.
