Founded in 1922, the AHS is among the oldest and most prestigious horticultural organizations in the United States. Our mission is to share the critical role of plants, gardens, and green spaces while helping to create healthy, livable communities and a sustainable planet. AHS fulfills its mission through educational programming, The American Gardener magazine, Great American Gardeners Awards, the AHS Garden Network, National Children & Youth Garden Symposium, Travel Study Program, and exemplary gardens at our national headquarters, River Farm. AHS work is national in scope.

THE AMERICAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY IS AN EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATION WHOSE OBJECTIVE IS THE ADVANCEMENT AND DIFFUSION OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF PHYSICS. APS IS A MEMBERSHIP ASSOCIATION WHICH PUBLISHES PHYSICS JOURNALS, CONDUCTS SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS, AND ENGAGES IN EDUCATIONAL, PUBLIC AFFAIRS AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS.

ATR provides for the protection and education about all species of tortoise and turtle. We offer permanent sanctuary to abandoned tortoises. Foundlings that cannot be adopted because of ill health or because they are in danger of extinction remain in the care of American Tortoise Rescue for the remainder of their lives.

American Bible Society works to make the Bible available and accessible to every person in a language and format they can understand and afford. It supports Bible translation, production, distribution, literacy and engagement efforts both in the United States and internationally to help people experience the Bible’s message.

The ALA Constitution states the purpose of ALA as, “The object of the American Library Association shall be to promote library service and librarianship.” The stated mission is, “To provide leadership for the development, promotion, and improvement of library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to enhance learning and ensure access to information for all.”

The American Film Institute is America's promise to preserve the heritage of the motion picture, to honor the artists and their work and to educate the next generation of storytellers. As a nonprofit educational arts organization, AFI provides leadership in film and television and is dedicated to initiatives that engage the past, the present and the future of the moving image arts.

AMERICAN VALOR FOUNDATION IS A REGISTERED AND APPROVED 501(C)3 NON-PROFIT CORPORATION COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING OUR MILITARY VETERANS, FIRST RESPONDERS AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH PROGRAMS OF FUND RAISING EFFORTS AND DIRECT SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS. AVF ALSO HONORS OUR HEROS THROUGH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS.

The American Melanoma Foundation is dedicated to educating the public on melanoma prevention and the importance of taking protective measures to guard against excessive sun exposure, especially among children and young people. In addition, AMF is committed to funding research for the development of treatments for melanoma and providing support to melanoma patients and their families.

The American Battlefield Trust is dedicated to preserving America's hallowed battlegrounds and educating the public about what happened there and why it matters today. The nonprofit organization has protected thousands of acres of battlefield land associated with the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Civil War. Learn more at http://www.battlefields.org.

The American Montessori Society advances and supports Montessori education by setting standards, providing teacher education and professional development, and advocating for research and public policy to increase access to high‑quality Montessori programs. It serves members (teachers, schools, families) and promotes Montessori practice and accreditation to strengthen educational outcomes.

The American Transplant Foundation's mission is to save lives by reducing the growing list of women, men, and children who are waiting for a transplant by maximizing living organ donation. We provide a three-tiered approach with educational, emotional, and financial support for living donors, transplant recipients, and their families across the United States.

The American India Foundation (AIF) works to improve the lives of India’s underserved—especially women, children, and youth—by funding and running high-impact programs in education, livelihoods, and public health. As a binational organization, it also builds partnerships and leadership exchanges between the U.S. and India to scale sustainable social change.
