The mission of Boys Hope Girls Hope is to help academically capable and motivated children-in-need to meet their full potential and become men and women for others. By providing value-centered, family-like homes, opportunities and education through college, we are focused on preparing BHGH Scholars to be R.E.A.D.Y. (Resilient, Empowered, Academically Driven, Youth) for success and to graduate young people who are physically, emotionally, and academically prepared for post-secondary education and a productive life, breaking the cycle of generational poverty.
The British Columbia Girls Choir (BCGC) includes singers from Grade One to young adult. There are four choir levels and acceptance is based on the age of the singer, the ability to match pitch and musical experience. BCGC's membership consists of singers from nearly every school district in the Greater Vancouver area. The choirs explore a wide range of repertoire each season including classics, seasonal, folk tunes, contemporary, music in other languages as well as selections by Canadian composers. The most senior singers are invited to tour. The choir has toured to Australia, Northwest United States, British Columbia, China, Scotland, England, Germany and Costa Rica. When at home the choir regularly participates in community outreach events using the joy of singing to help raise awareness and funds for other charities.
