Founded in 2004, Bach With Verse brings hope, inspiration and laughter through music and stories to war-torn and remote areas, and prison populations. To fulfill this mission, BWV presents double bassist Richard “Dobbs” Hartshorne in outreach concerts for all ages in schools, orphanages, prisons, refugee camps, rehabilitation and community centers throughout the world. Performances are crafted with a unique blend of classical music and humorous musical stories that are easily accessible to diverse audiences. BWV programs have reached West Bank Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, South Africa, Bolivia, Uganda and prisons throughout the United States.

We have a long-term relationship within the Bushwick Community and because of that, we understand the pulse of the community. As a grassroots organization, and we have become the hands, feet, ears, and mouthpiece for those who are afraid to let their voice be heard. It is our intention to connect those in need with the right resources that will improve their way of living. With the generous support of donors and volunteers, we plant along streets and trails, in parks, schools, fire stations, neighborhoods, and many other public properties.
