Save-A-Pet is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and one of the largest no-kill cat and dog rescues and adoption center in Lake County, Illinois. We provide a safe haven for abused, neglected, injured, lost, or animals that have escaped euthanasia.We never put a limit on the amount of care we will provide for an animal and we never give up on them. Save-A-Pet offers rescued dogs and cats the greatest opportunity for a second chance. We take great pride in practicing our no-kill mission and in stewarding our donors’ contributions; both of which have led to the successful adoption of over 66,000 dogs and cats.
Save A Pet, Inc, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization funded by private donations. Our mission is to offer care for abused, neglected, unwanted or homeless animals until they can be placed in suitable loving permanent homes. We provide safe shelter, food, medication and veterinary care for animals in our care and all are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. We set no time limits on animals waiting for adoption; we do not euthanize to make room for more. Our goal is to help bring an end to animal suffering and overpopulation through educating the public on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of animals.
Our mission is to save giraffes from extinction so they can live freely and safely in the woodlands and savannas of their native Africa. We have over twenty action-oriented projects in nine African countries including creating or improving large giraffe sanctuaries and wildlife corridors, supporting anti-poaching rangers and de-snaring work, rescuing, caring for and rewilding giraffe orphans, rescuing endangered giraffe trapped on an island, and rewilding giraffe and relocating giraffe to broaden gene pools.
Save Our Songbirds conducts principal research on migratory songbirds with a particular focus on birds migrating through Thunder Bay, Ontario. We are in the process of establishing a migration monitoring & bird banding station on McKellar Island. Here we plan to track the numbers of birds migrating through this area spring and fall through banding and counting birds. In this location, so close to the city, we will have many opportunities to interact with the public, to educate and engage. We need your help supporting the biologists in their work. WE DO THIS THROUGH EFFECTIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND TARGETED ADVOCACY CAMPAIGNS THAT ENGAGE OUR SUPPORTERS WHO CHERISH THE BAY AS A NATURAL, RECREATIONAL, AND ECONOMICAL RESOURCE FOR THE COMMUNITY AND ALL OF NEW JERSEY.
