Empower a Billion Lives (EBL) is a biennial global competition (starting 2018) designed to crowdsource regionally relevant innovation to accelerate deployment of energy access solutions around the world.
EBL requires a holistic approach using innovative business plans and fast-moving 21st-century technologies with exponentially declining prices. Ongoing competition cycles will drive a continuous learning process allowing successive competitors to leverage past learnings, adopt fast-moving emerging technologies and demonstrate capabilities in realistic environments.
