Our Mission
The mission of House of Heroes, Inc. is to recognize, honor and serve military and public safety veterans and/or their spouses who have served our country faithfully and sacrificially. Through service to these veterans and their spouses, House of Heroes, Inc. volunteers attempt to express gratitude that can never be adequately expressed in words alone by. We do this by providing one day, no cost repairs for Veterans

This Veteran has severe PTSD. He could not finish his deck, do his much needed landscaping or install railings on his front steps. House of Heroes, with the help of Contractor's Direct was able to complete all these tasks in just one day for him. We made his life a little less stressful and brought some joy to his world! House of Heroes stepped in to help a firefighter who had not only served in the military but also was a Hamden fireman for for over 20 years. He retired and a few months later had a massive stroke. His wife was unable to get him in and out of his house so HOH, with the help of many volunteers, was able to construct a safe ramp for him. Safety, accessibility and sustainability....it's what we do! "Make a Difference in a Day"

House of Heroes has a mission to keep all Veterans safely in their own homes. Because of the inequalities in Income for Veterans, many cannot afford the upkeep of their home. Some are forced to move in with a relative or give up their home entirely due to lack of income. As a country we can do a better job of supporting those who have sacrificed so much for our own freedoms. At House of Heroes we do our best to to serve all those who have served and help them remain safely in their own homes.
