The Durham Medical Orchestra Foundation was incorporated in the state of North Carolina in 2016 as a non-profit public corporation with a charitable and educational purpose. The mission of the Foundation is to promote music as a healing art and to support musical activities for and by health professionals, their family members, and affiliated persons in Durham, North Carolina and in nearby communities. The Foundation has selected the Durham Medical Orchestra (DMO), as a group that is closely aligned with its mission and values. Accordingly, the Foundation works closely with DMO leadership to raise funds, provide grants to, and/or make purchases that benefit the DMO. The Foundation also provides financial services for the DMO, including processing of donations.
