Pledge to make a difference, together.
OTSE's mission: To bring uncomfortable topics to the forefront using theater, music, spoken word and various other art forms to impact the community to move one from bystander to service hood.
Our Co-Founder and Executive Director Lauretta Ali-Abdullah was a foster care child in the 1950s system. Aiding youth aging out of the system has been her goal since 2005 as an advocate with the organization Family Matters out of Gwinnett County, GA. During the month of June 2018 the OTSE Board Members collected so many new and/or gently used suitcases, back packs, etc. to the foster care youth at Laurel Heights Hospital, that we had to hire a U-haul truck to deliver them to the hospital's front door. Our Founder and CEO Muhammad (MJ) Abdullah, together with Board Member Kathy Skipper and Lauretta stood on the steps of the hospital with two of their staff members, holding the banner made by all of the foster care children; presented to us. It was a day we will never forget.
On The Spot Edutainment Corporation is more than an entertainment organization. We use entertainment to educate the public on social issues that impact our communities and every day lives. We believe the arts are most needed in the educational institutions. We believe community awareness about social issues (such as bullying) creates a more productive and sustainable community in every city. Our goal is to build a community center that focuses not only on the arts, but through community interaction, we will inspire peace and justice as an institution statewide nationally. We seek partnerships as we aspire to see our goals become a daily reality.
