$3,400 raised via 24 donations
Knit the Rainbow's mission is to provide handmade knit and crochet winter protective garments to homeless LGBTQ+ youth across the nation.
A Photo from our first distribution day in 2021. We distributed over 2,400 garments in one day to several LGBTQ+ community-based organizations in NYC.
This is a photo of Andy Stowers Forest, who received winter garments from Knit the Rainbow with their spouse. Andy was invited to join KtR founder, Austin Rivers, on the Kelly Clarkson Show to share their story and the impact our garments made on their winter survival that year.
Knit the Rainbow donated hundreds of garments to our partner organization, Bridges4Life. At their Trans Day of Remembrance event, they set up a table and were able to distribute the garments to hundreds of Queer and Trans youth struggling with housing security.
