Cardea Health is a non-profit healthcare organization founded to connect people who have experienced homelessness with the clinical and supportive services necessary to improve health, remain stably housed, and age in place. To provide culturally appropriate care, Cardea Health employs individuals from non-traditional backgrounds who have lived experience of homelessness, poverty, and substance use. This creates a diverse team, rich in experience, who form strong bonds with the clients that Cardea serves. Supporting professional development for individuals who may not otherwise have access to economic opportunity is a core part of Cardea’s social justice mission.
