Telecare Distress Line of Greater Simcoe provides 24/7 telephone support for individuals experiencing emotional distress, social isolation, alcohol/drug issues, grief and loss, financial concerns and relationship issues.
Telecare Distress Line of Greater Simcoe receives up to 1,000 calls per month from all over Simcoe County and South Muskoka.
Volunteers receive extensive professional training and are able to respond to the immediate and changing needs of the callers as well as referring and connecting them to other appropriate community resources if necessary.
Telecare is an integral part of the social service infrastructure of this community by providing an emotional safety net. Telecare Distress Line helps to alleviate stress, averting crisis and reducing unnecessary emergency calls and ER visits.
